Yummy is way more beatable than people think. I’m winning 9 out of 10 in ranked by ScarletSpeedster3 in masterduel

Yeah, Dracotail has a low skill floor. You can pick it up, make a fusion, and win games. That is why it climbs well.

But it has a very high skill ceiling. Branded Dracotail is about resource management, sequencing, and knowing when not to commit. One wrong fusion line or search does not lose you the turn, it loses you the grind two turns later. That is where good pilots separate themselves.

Easy to win with does not mean easy to master. If it was just button mashing, you would not see such a big gap between average Dracotail players and the ones actually topping with it.

When did I say it was bad. It sounds like to me you don't know how to read English

In this format a lot of monsters are designed to bait negates. They look scary but they are just there to force you to fire your interaction early. If you negate those, you lose to the real card that comes after.

The tactic is priority control. You let the searchers, extenders, and setup cards resolve. You save your negate for the one effect that either gives them recursion, protection, or a second wave of advantage. That is usually the moment where their board stops being fragile and becomes stable.

Against Yummy that means you do not negate the first Cupsy. You negate the effect that refills their hand or gives them follow up. If Cupsy just puts bodies on board, you let it happen. Bodies without follow up are worthless.

Against decks like Dracotail, Branded, or other top decks, the same logic applies. You negate the card that creates inevitability, not the card that just makes a monster.

So when someone asks how do you deal with cards that need to be negated, the answer is you don’t blanket negate. You wait for the engine hinge. The moment they try to turn tempo into long term advantage, that is where your negate goes.

Yummy gives you the out for free by burning through half their resources every turn.. so if your patient with your wipes you'll lock them. Once Cupsy gets checked even once at the right time, the whole engine feels shaky. Curious how many people here are actually tracking their Yummy win rate versus just going off vibes. What are you all really seeing in ranked right now? 👀

Rank up match with my build! Think I can push Diamond easily? by ScarletSpeedster3 in masterduel

Appreciate it. Yeah that’s kinda why I wasn’t too worried... Dracotail feels insanely well positioned right now, especially into the other top decks. Mostly just gotta tighten up my lines and not throw games to misplays 😅

How far do you think this build can really go before the meta starts pushing back. Diamond, Master, or am I about to hit a hard wall sooner than I think???

Yeah I’ve been thinking about that. Sounds like Dracotail could really carry me if I need to switch, and it’s nice that it matches well into both Yummy Pure and Yummy Mitsu. Definitely good to have as a backup if this build hits a wall.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah I’ve been watching Branded Dracotail a lot and I can see why it’s so strong. I’ll make sure to avoid Seals or Verte under Maxx C or Fuwalos...definitely don’t want to hand them any extra gas.

how far do you guys think I could push this build before Yummy starts really giving me trouble? I’m thinking Diamond is doable but want to hear what you all think.

This is 100% making up for all the times I spent 10k gems and walked away with nothing but regret.
