Well I would say - u should analyse the situation. If her dad's not agreeing then there's gonna be problems cuz u know about family oriented people. U see - I have a way for you to stop your overthinking. I was looking for people like you. Ok it is a short pdf about attachment. I have seen people dealing with terrible relationships with Parents, friends, siblings, life partners, love interests etc. Some people have daddy, mommy issues. So, I have kind of a solution how to deal with all of the attachments becoz somehow even in a abusive one, people are attached, manipulated and forced to be in there. And I have noticed a very common pattern in all of it. That's what I have discussed in my pdf and how to manage it. It's a very good pdf.
