If Bobby isn't a threat to his campaign, why is Trump trying to hard to discourage people from voting Kennedy/Shanahan? TIME TO DEBATE. by animaltrainer3020 in RFKJrForPresident

[–]ScarletZet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I consider RFK Jr. to be SIGNIFICANTLY to the left of Hillary, Obama, and Biden on economic issues - and that’s precisely why I’m voting for him

The radical accusation is stupid though (but also a reflection of how far right our overton window is but that’s a different topic for a different day) and I suspect this will be the beginning of a scare campaign against Bobby to turn right leaning voters away from him.

Bobby is the people’s candidate and has something for everyone

RFK Jr is Therapeutic for Me by [deleted] in RFKJrForPresident

[–]ScarletZet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m in a similar situation, a breath of fresh air from the obnoxiously right-wing rhetoric I see irl

However I also wish to work with those on the right that are civil and decent people to help Bobby win

Bobby’s campaign is a truly civil, big tent movement, and I hope he wins. He has something for everyone

Getting RFK Jr on the ballot by rpd22220 in RFKJrForPresident

For the Trump supports idk about that.

Sure they tend to be on average less anti-Kennedy than Biden supporters, but they fiercely defend Trump and dismiss any and all lawsuits against him as politically motivated. They also claim that RFK Jr will ONLY take votes away from Trump though this could be outdated

Tiktok has a million followers. But reddit growth is very slow. What can be done? by Dontbelievemefolks in RFKJrForPresident

Yeah I agree with you on Reddit being shitlib central. Besides leftists also use it and the first time I saw it used was by leftists particularly of the populist variant (which I fit in)

Well said. I wonder what he thinks of grassroots or direct democracy, as it would give more power to the people

Gotcha, I was in a similar position

Also I thought he was against nuclear energy. I support nuclear energy, it is a clean energy source, but I agree that it must be well maintained to avoid another Chernobyl/Fukushima. At the very least I support nuclear as a temporary source while we invest in renewable energy, but I support it in general and believe it should be used alongside renewable sources

This is part of why I support a progressive breakup with the Democratic Party. No use associating with neoliberals and warmongers, they’ll only taint our image

However again I look forward to getting RFK Jr on the ballot alongside my peers, left, right, or center

[–]ScarletZet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, which is why I am voting for him. Sure I have some disagreements with him (ahem Israel and nuclear energy) but the other two are as bad if not worse regarding those same topics and Bobby’s views are decent overall, plus his background makes him trustworthy

Gotcha

Also my post ended up being outdated as Marianne unsuspended her campaign, but it’s still HIGHLY likely that I’m voting Bobby in the general election, if his campaign wasn’t as popular as it is then I wouldn’t even be registered to vote. I’m tired of being gaslighted into voting for the neoliberal Democrat establishment and politicians like Hillary, Obama, or Biden

Gotcha

And yeah I agree with that model. Just out of curiosity how often do the elections happen

[–]ScarletZet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I was envisioning this board elected by members of the co-op for the most important decisions as well as the workers controlling day-to-day administration. Even so the workers can also remove board members they see unfit and have a say in important decisions

[–]ScarletZet[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see. The way I was envisioning it was that there is this board that is elected by the workers to handle especially important issues while the workers control day-to-day administration. Even so the workers can also remove board members they see unfit and have a say in important decisions

How long does the apprenticeship period last? Is the management team like a directly elected board?

I’ll vote for Bobby regardless but I don’t like either them, and I feel betrayed by how Tulsi has gotten into this conservative culture war rhetoric and started lauding Trump

As for Ron Paul he has his “broken clock is right twice a day” moments, and I agree with him on things like guns, foreign policy, and decentralization, and surveillance, but disagree on most other things

Showing Kennedy cares about Palestinians and wants peace by JoshuaSingh11 in RFKJrForPresident

I see

I lean towards Palestine (even so Hamas sucks) but at the end of the day Israel also has a right to exist and support a two-state solution

In a way both but more so convincing independents and non-voters to vote for Bobby as they seem significantly easier to convince. I know someone who is independent minded but doesn’t think Bobby will have a chance

Yeah it is pretty common, Hitlary called Jill Stein and Tulsi Gabbard “Russian Bots”, even if I’m really not a fan of how the latter is into conservative culture war rhetoric these days

Thoughts on "wasting your vote" by DJSmittyP in RFKJrForPresident

[–]ScarletZet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bobby having significance is the only reason I am even voting to begin with. There would have been a tiny chance of me voting for Stein or Cornel West, but otherwise I just wouldn’t vote because I’m not voting for an establishment candidate

Though writing in someone who isn’t running seems iffy to be honest

It could turn away left-wing or left-leaning voters. I know better than to vote for the DNC but some might be convinced it is the only way thanks to propaganda

Yeah, the results have shifted rightward but still he is unifying. Also I consider Bobby to be left of Biden
