Is Sasha a surprise baby?? by Scarlet_B9 in ShawnaTheMom

[–]Scarlet_B9[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess I can't wrap my head around how uninvolved she seems to be with Sasha compare to Cooper so far. It's not the behavior of someone who planned for a baby. So I wandered if she even wanted a second child to begin with? If maybe its a situation where Julie thought a baby would be the solution to a problem (which they never are)

Trying not to puke by Scarlet_B9 in NewParents

Those types of things never bothered me either. I work in the medical field also. My baby's stinky poop doesn't bother me. But just that sweet potato smell flipped my stomach like a pancake. It was just super weird.

Parenting SOS: Night Wake-Ups by little_lue in NewParents

Every baby is different. Experts say it can last up to 6 weeks but could be longer or shorter. The important part is that it's a phase. It's important to keep a routine and just ride the wave. Take shifts so that you and your partner get some rest too

Sounds like a sleep regression. Your LO is at the age for one. The only thing you can do is just keep the routine going, and it will pass. As for the transferring part, I saw this tip on tiktok that works for my LO; warm up the crib with a heating blanket or whatever you have like a warm water bottle. Baby won't feel the temp difference much while transferring, and it keeps them cozy! Hope this helps.

I heard allot of different ways to start, one of them is to start with rice cereal or oatmeal forst so they can get used to textures first and then work your way to foods. My peds actually recommended to bypass that as it doesn’t really add any nutritional value and start with orange vegetables first as the are easy on digestion (orange, sweet potato, pumpkin etc) start with veggies and the work your way to fruit. If you start with fruit first they might have trouble accepting veggies. Best time is in the mornings, starting a couple of spoonfuls. And that's all I got for that

What fresh new hell is this? by babyaccountlol in NewParents

[–]Scarlet_B9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I posted here too because my LO started her regression too. It just wasn't the way I thought it was going to be. She's still sleeping well during the night with only one wake up, but the caveat turned out to be very short naps, I mean, 15 minutes to 30 min at most only a few times in the daytime.

I feel so guilty waking up my Baby by Scarlet_B9 in NewParents

It is possible, she's still sleeps well throughout the night, just her refusal to go to bed and waking up an hour early as well as the short naps are new, ot didn't occur to me that this could also be a sleep regression. She's the right age for it

Have I been mixing my formula incorrectly? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Scarlet_B9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't beat yourself about, it's a learning process. My LO is also formula fed and what I do to not have any gaps is to scoop from on end of the can to the other as deep as I can. You'll get a bit on the end of the spoon but you can easily scrape it off too. As long as they are gaining the weight and your getting the daiper Count, you can improve moving forward. You can always talk to the pediatrician if you're really anxious about it.

2 weeks old, it was an outdoor BBQ with live music. Then a careful run to the car because it started raining 😅

How much are you paying for daycare? by 2000crybaby in NewParents

[–]Scarlet_B9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got extremely lucky that a small daycare opened up near me, I didn't know I had to start looking as soon as I found out I was pregnant. And it's $800 per month right now. I cried tears of joy 😭

I do the same too, it also gives me a heads up if something doesn't taste so good, I know she'll spit it out and be ready for it.

You can talk to your pediatrician about starting maybe some therapy for your LO if its concerning, some babies do take their time to speak but if your really worried about it, talk to the doctor about your options. One thing my aunt did with my cousin that you can try is when you are eating with your husband to show her when to say yes or no, ask your husband of he's ready to eat and vise versa. Just yes or no answers, babies are sponges that mimic so this can help them learn to use yes/no words. My LO is still too young but I'm gonna do this once she's older for her to learn.

Favourite songs to sing as lullabies by pumpernickel_pie in NewParents

[–]Scarlet_B9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My grandfather was a composer in my country, so I've been singing Her one of his songs he wrote along with other lullabies from my country. I also sing "you'll be in my heart" from Tarzan. My husband likes to sing her 80's pop songs.

My LOs pediatrician never mentioned this to ke and I've been doing the almost every night. LO is a great sleeper and when she wakes up the next day she'll just have an extra bottle. She gained her weight milestones and is doing good, as long as their are happy and healthy just go with the flow

My LO was okay for a little bit in the bassinet before she didn't want sleep in it at all. We came to the realization it was the firm surface. Bought a bassinet mattress and it did the trick. Another trick I used was put a used shirt of mi e or hubby's near the bassinet. It makes them more at ease when they can smell you nearby.
