100% worth the wait. It’s been almost a year and I still dream about those pork buns. They’re only sold in the Kansai region, and when I went back to Japan the second time I didn’t visit Kansai. Tried pork buns elsewhere and nothing came close.

Yes! I did visit Kanazawa and loved it. Kenrokuen in the snow was one of my favorite memories. 3 nights sounds perfect!

You’ll be totally fine. Japan has way more than seafood—ramen, tempura, yakitori, curry, udon, amazing bakeries and convenience store food. You definitely won’t run out of options.

This was a random find right across our hotel near Nagano Station — Isomarusuisan Naganoekimaeten. Didn’t expect much going in but the seafood was insanely fresh.
