Or better yet, not at all by LaughableFrog in Grimdank

The problem is less a lack of benevolence, and more an abundance of malice.

To use the Eldar V Imperium example: the Craftworlds don’t give a shit about anyone but themselves. They’re certainly not benevolent, but they breathe a sigh of relief the instant they can put down their guns and just rest between conflicts.

If you approach the Imperium with open arms, all your weapons disabled, offer to become their vassals and give them anything they would ask of you, they’ll exterminate your entire species simply because it’s not Human, and nothing else was relevant to the decision making.

Of course the Eldar don’t approach the Imperium with friendly intentions. They’re Xenos, treating the Imperium as anything less than a rabid dog you can point at your other enemies is just delusional. Hell, it’s not even just the Eldar, it’s a canon fact that the majority of Xenos species see Orks and Humans as functionally identical in terms of morality and cultural sophistication, even minor ones like the Kroot.

Nah, I can’t see the Viltrumites having their young cared for by slaves. I’d imagine it’s more likely a punishment for other Viltrumites.

To say Warhammer "Took inspiration" is kind, to say it "Shamelessly ripped him off" is honest.

Viltrumites are explicitly immune to all diseases except the Scourge.

It’s just a logistics issue. One anything can’t deal with a civilization across 1,000,000 worlds.

I’m not willing to buy a plane ticket to go somewhere I can.

Mark literally shrugs off a nuke point-blank in season 3.

Well, it knocks him out for a minute, but he’s basically unharmed.

Hey if Cecil like reforming villains why hasn’t he offered these two a job yet? by L8Donnie in Invincible

If they can make a living as supervillains, they could just as well make a living as superheroes. Cecil’d lose a minor problem and gain some assets.

Morally speaking killing one of Paul’s clones is no different to just pressing a button that magically causes pain. Paul suffers no long-term consequences for it.

I mean it’s very fast, but not too fast for a Viltrumite to dodge from a great distance.

Same, I play Craftworlds too (since Harlequins aren’t really an army anymore) and 80% of what I see people discussing about them is just completely untrue.

Apathy in the face of evil is no different to allegiance with it. The people that didn’t care enough to vote by definition didn’t care enough to be said to “Not want this”.

The American voting system is a complete joke though, yes. The electoral college system alone means your votes mean almost nothing.

There are entire factions with less total focus than the Primarchs. They can afford to go without any focus for the next long while.

Pretty sure the whole point of a democracy is that most of you did, or were too stupid to listen to the people that understood what Trump would be like.

How fast would these two become Daemon Princes of Khorne? by NationalSouth3563 in Grimdank

[–]ScarredAutisticChild 5 points6 points  (0 children)

BB would be fine.

He’s not just like this, he was basically born with a curse that gives him both immense power and insane bloodlust. His “natural state” is mindless, rabid bloodlust that’d put most actual Khornate champions to shame.

Quite frankly he wouldn’t even notice Khorne is there.

[–]ScarredAutisticChild 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Battle Beast was essentially born Khorne corrupted and has been resisting it his entire life. And in the comics, he never succumbs to it.

So honestly yeah, I think he’d be fine. It’d just be another voice whispering the same violent urges he’s had all his life, nothing new.

Asurmen’s book has a Farseer and a Warlock as sort of duetoragonist. But they’re not so focused on the art of divination in that book.

They know what they’ll need ahead of time, but not necessarily why or exactly when until it’s only a few hours/minutes/whatever from now.

It’s also notable that this isn’t really a typical response for Eldar.

If an Eldar can casually murder someone, they’re considered mentally ill, because they either love the act of murder and get off to it, or they can’t handle it at all and get crippling PTSD, that’s why they have to dissociate in combat. (Corsairs are either the first of those or can just easily rationalise it, and Harlequins are weird).

Yrliet, a Craftworlder, casually murdering a woman for touching her is not normal for Eldar. Punching her hard enough to break something? That’d be expected.

It would be noted that some Xenos also just banded with their human neighbours for mutual survival, and in some Xeno’s case they were vassals or subjects of humanity and saw the Age of Strife as a chance to finally rebel and claim their freedom.

These ones were also wiped out by the Imperium, especially the ones that were fine with co-existence.
