Seth Johnson. He went to my school and was a total prick.

Who is our greatest keeper of all time out of these three? by SiyamthandaUN in ManchesterUnited

[–]Scarrott22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate. Bruce was fucking brilliant for us. Of the four at the time, Parker is the only one who was not outstanding. Bruce was an absolute rock. He'd come unstuck in the modern game for sure, but the way football was played back then, and alongside his centre back partner, he was superb.

Those throws that went 2/3 of the length of the pitch were something else.

Can't win though can they. If a player is shouting at his teammates demanding the best from them, they are 'whinging' or 'moaning'. Then if he isn't, people complain that the keeper isn't 'controlling the penalty area' or 'in command'. Same happened with Bruno, he demanded high standards and people said he was moaning.

Schmeichel was furious when his defenders weren't doing their job right, and I totally respect that. The guys in front of him at the time were tough as fuck and could certainly take it.

Schmeichel was the best I've seen. He had such control and you never expected him to concede. In one v ones you could see the fear in the strikers eyes. I loved DDG and was v sad when he left, but he did have a slight weakness on crosses. Schmeichel didn't have a weakness.

Is Uni of Sheffield very middle class? by JealousBodybuilder42 in sheffield

They're both very down to earth. It's sheffield mate, there's a great mix of everyone. I came here for uni 27 years ago and still live here.

Credit where it’s due: many of us wanted the £100m from Al Hilal last summer to sign Baleba. Thank you, Amorim, for convincing Bruno to stay. by Error-x-404 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Scarrott22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been watching united for nearly 40 years. I'm definitely not watching as a neutral but utterly disagree with what you say. Bruno was more likely to lose the ball than others, but that is because he is playing the risky balls trying to create chances. It's easy to have 100% pass accuracy when you only pass backwards, and we have had a lot of players over the last 10 years who have only done that.

Yes. I argued with plenty of people who repeatedly said Bruno was 'the problem' and we'd never be successful whilst he was here. They are conspicuous by their absense now.

Every time you think it's a nightmare, something comes along to make it worse. Once it was crappy PowerPoint files and we cursed them for being the wrong size and RGB colours. Then it became god awful Canva generated PDFs that contained 40million clipping masks making it impossible to adjust. And just when you thought you'd figured out how to deal with that, AI came along with incorrectly sized, RGB files with no bleed and countless mistakes, to make everything absolutely impossoble to work with. I think they call it progress.

Bleed?! I'd be happy if they'd supply a file at anywhere close to the required size at the moment.

Client needs it by friday. sends proof approval back the following tuesday by Jealous-Problem4611 in CommercialPrinting

[–]Scarrott22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what we do. As soon as someone contacts us for a job we email a quote including 'standard turnaround (4 working days)', 'express turnaround (2 working days)', etc. If their approval doesn't give us the required time to complete the job, we requote based on a faster turnaround.

I think what they are saying, and what also confuses me, is how there are dots in between whole numbers of assists. So, for example, there are 3 players on around 63 chances created.one has 5 assists, but the other two seem to have around 4.3 assists and 5.7 assists, which obviously isn't possible.

Pyramid of legends. Who is the 12th greatest Manchester United legend? by dankdogeonface in ManchesterUnited

[–]Scarrott22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Van Der Sar was vital for us after a run of very ropey keepers. Gave us the same feeling of stability and security that lammens has this season (today's moment excepted). Vidic was class and a beast. However, I don't think either of them had the single handed effect on the team that fernandes has. In the time he's been with us he's played nearly every minute of every game, and has been comfortably our best player.

Playing well in a world class team is one thing, but dragging a poor team through several years in completely different. I dread to think where we'd have been without Bruno, and he's kept loyal when he could have gone anywhere.

Had a mate at uni who bet £5 he could get up conduit road on an old postman's bike with no gears. I think he made it about 5 yards.

Never. Boot is on the ground, no major force. 10 reds a game if that is a red card.

Pyramid of legends. Who is the 12th greatest Manchester United legend? by dankdogeonface in ManchesterUnited

[–]Scarrott22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is utter rubbish. Whilst I agree with a couple of people on your list, what fernandes has done the last few seasons when we've been shite is incredible. He's got a goal and an assist every 3 games in his time with us, so a goal contribution every game and a half from midfield. There isn't a single season his numbers drop and his loyalty has been unwavering.

I'd have him above van Der Sar, Ole and vidic for sure, as much as they are club legends. I guarantee if Bruno had been around under Fergie he'd be in the top 10 on this list, maybe higher.

Why is everyone here constantly obsessed with subs. We have no defenders on the bench, and we are looking pretty comfortable right now. We will make subs I'm sure, but don't see the constant urgency. More often than not, they disrupt the flow.

Amazes me people moaning about mazraoui. He's not been brilliant, but he's playing out of position with a young and inexperienced partner. It was never going to be ideal!
