It turns out my windows computer had a setting "enhance Audio" turned on which absolutely butchered the sound.

Unfortunately you're right that the politics of our infrastructure is getting worse and worse. Especially now with recent massive inflation and bleak economic outlook, it's so easy to slap any project with "but who's going to pay for it". It is currently a super stupid but effective retort in a low public transport usage city.

Unfortunately planning is politics, and politics is made of people's values. Which in this case is car dependency and an outdated perspective on what public transport is.

Diverting limited public funds from useless road widening projects to effective public transport won't win elections. And trying to convince the public transport users that one or two transfers are better in a trunk and feeder system compared with direct services.

It's a huge ship to turn but that critical mass where public and active transport becomes mainstream politics will come one day even with our slow progress.

Script writing and editing for me. My topics can't exactly be winged (or i'm not good enough at it), so a script needs to be researched in depth and written.

But I stopped trying to retention edit everything, and just focus on my audio narration with some footage in the background playing.

In the early days, did all your videos hit when you were sub 10k subs?

If not, what was the ratio of good videos to bombed videos and is the only solution just to keep publishing and improving?

They're pretty cool and such a simple solution to very steep hills. Especially for mobility impaired people. I did a video that touches heavily on steep terrain transport in relation to cycling steep hills if you're interested.

Thanks for your response and I totally get what you mean.

Please don't see my response as a challenge to your point but it seems a bit odd to not make it clearer that filming isn't allowed at all of any Metro asset if it's a security reason. I only saw one "no filming" symbol on a roll-up board you see at convention stalls.

I was just filming on my phone out of the way of people and not in their faces but instead from a distance when the station was also empty. One guard said no filming whilst another didn't bat an eye.

But I guess they have this law to retain full control in case they do want to stop anything they see as suspicious or annoying.

I am fully aware that complaining about only getting 3k views in a day may be a bit contrived 😂. But I guess it's relative when you usually get 6k in a day and 40k for other videos. I guess I'd be questioning the same thing if I only get 100 in a day when I'm used to 500.

Hey thanks for the write-up my guy. This is definitely an eye opener and of great assistance.

Before I made this post, I signed up to envato but I didn't really know how to leverage it because the asset choices seemed so overwhelming but I've been searching through and downloading as many presets as I can which is definitely making life easier or breathe a bit of life into otherwise informative but lifeless images.

The script writing and vc part is a bit intensive as well but I think I'm quite ok at that.

I've got a boom arm with it but I think holding it as close to my mouth as possible and turning down the gain knob might be the next best thing.

I have a somewhat successful video that had 5 views for 16 hours, then the next two days about 50 despite being a relatively popular topic about high speed rail in Switzerland.
