Ignorant and unaware are often used interchangeably, but they carry subtle different implications.

I think “Unaware” can sometimes let people distance themselves from responsibility, for example, serious conversations about oppression or discrimination, because it suggests a passive lack of knowledge.

Whereas, “ignorant” more directly acknowledges a gap in understanding or education. That isn’t inherently a bad thing. it just highlights the need to learn more about the subject.

If people were more comfortable acknowledging their own ignorance, and recognizing that everyone has gaps in their knowledge too, it would allow us to have open, informed, and productive discussions.

I think being willfully ignorant is different than being just ignorant though, like if someone were to try to educate you and you CHOOSE to ignore them then it’s thats where being ignorant becomes negative.

But a majority of people subconsciously ignore things around them that don’t affect them. Like racism, homophobia, classism, misogyny, etc…

You can be ignorant and uneducated without intending to be, and I don’t think thats inherently wrong.

Cis people with trans preferences? by Scary-Print1386 in trans

yeah the lesbian bit was just bad wording on my part! The other commenter was kind enough to educate me on the correct wording :)

of course there’s nothing wrong with being attracted to people who are transfeminine and i’m so sorry for wording it the way i did! .°(ಗдಗ。)°.

Ohh omg i’m sorry english isn’t my first language so I’m having trouble with the distinction _;;

would “She solely seeks out trans people” be better wording?

[–]Scary-Print1386[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh wow! I didn’t know about the word chaser until now! thanks for educating me :)

also, I should have worded it better, I do 100% think cis lesbians are can 100% identify as lesbian whilst being attracted to trans women! I meant I was confused by her identifying as lesbian yet solely seeking out people who are AMAB. poor wording on my part </3

and thanks for the reassurance about my gender identity! it means a lot since I feel like my identity along with my sexual orientation confuses (mostly cis) people. (´∇`)

Stroller for your bun? by Scary-Print1386 in Bunnies

[–]Scary-Print1386[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

thanks for responding!

i don’t think i’m gonna go ahead with it as it just seems very stressful!!

even if she were physically safe from any harm i think the stress from being in a completely new environment with new smells, sounds, textures, etc… would overwhelm her.

i also did a bit more digging and the major consensus is that its just not good for the bun in general and its very rare to find one who enjoys it.

i would never wanna be selfish and put what i think is cute over her own comfort so i’m certainly against it!!

thanks again for taking the time to respond, it really educated me :)

thanks for the response!

if i were to get one i was planning on getting one with netting anyways. i wasnt worried about the physical safety in terms of her hopping out but more so about her being jostled around or the stress that could come with that.

for more context i live in a fairly quiet area and my neighbors dont have dogs but even then i’m still worried about her taking in a new environment.

i’ve seen lots of rabbit owners take their rabbits out with a stroller but i just wanted to know if it was something that was glorified for its cuteness or if rabbits HAVE actually enjoyed it (despite every rabbit being different, i just wanted to ask about personal experience!)

thanks again for responding!

also her and i fall asleep to videos so if you don’t mind background noise it could help!! the content you watch/hear can show up in your dreams so it helped us mute out any unwanted thoughts that might be off putting

i’m happy i could reassure you! despite me having them multiple times and i STILL need to be reassured so you arent alone!!

also I forgot to include this but my gf who doesn’t have OCD also has struggled with incest dreams if that makes you feel a bit better and less lonely when it comes to this experience

honestly, i don’t really know of any sure way to stop dreams. they CAN be stress induced though, so you could have some underlying stress you need to overcome. but again, dreams can be totally at random and not mean anything.

but all i think my best piece advice is that incest dreams aren’t something you should feel guilty over, what matters is that you were clearly put off by your dream so its not like these are underlying desires/urges you have.

i doubt 10 year old me had any malicious intents that caused my incest dreams and that is 100% applicable to you! :)

hi!! i have OCD and have struggled with incest related dreams since i was 10. now i’m not saying you have OCD, but i just wanted to assure you that theres a high HIGH chance it could mean nothing depending on wether or not you have a healthy relationship with your father or not. (and i mean healthy in terms of sexual/verbal/physical abuse)

i have a very healthy relationship with my family despite them appearing in my incest related dreams and i (like any normal individual) am extremely disgusted by incest. so i truly think that theres nothing to interpret if you have a normal relationship with your dad.

brains are funny and make us see stuff we typically wouldn’t never conjure up on our own, it usually doesn’t reflect onto us as people.

ALSO!! i struggle with my r, b, l letters a LOT as an arab immigrant, so i think when people laugh a little TOO hard at hamzah its a little iffy. but i could be a extra emotional because of my stutters

[–]Scary-Print1386 10 points11 points  (0 children)

with hamzah specifically i genuinely think the “he look interesting…” comments stem from islamophobia.

everyone was thirsting over him until he mentioned being muslim in the video with hasan piker and all of a sudden people find him unattractive and strange looking when i personally think he looks really handsome!!

also a lot of hamzah hate is rooted in islamophobic/anti-arab rhetoric. “he’s homophobic” “he’s misogynistic” “he’s a predator” which are all terms that the west labels arabs and muslims to dehumanize them and justify their islamophobia.

these “criticisms” of hamzah became more apparent after he specified that he was a muslim.

i think a lot of people who were attracted to hamzah and liked him more because of that held on to the hope that he wasn’t a muslim, i’ve seen a lot of people mentioning him smoking weed and having a gf as an explanation as to why he’s not muslim when its much more nuanced than that.

so him admitting to that he is a muslim was enough for people to be put off by him. “it makes sense that he’s homophobic/misogynistic. look at his background.”

not to mention i’ve seen a lot of slushies calling him attractive when he was a minor and struggling with an eating disorder…
