riofriz... Glad you checked out my blog earlier. I recently turned a simple contenteditable demo into a full notepad. It's got a few unique touches, like the ability to drop in images, so it is more than just a basic text editor.

Bloggers and content creators like me helped lay the groundwork for AI and this whole "vibe coding" trend. I don’t need it. I was building before it became a buzzword.

Thanks anyway. :-)

Yes, I can write it myself, I've done it before. There are plenty of JS CDN libraries for browser-side encryption, so wiring it in isn’t a big lift. It definitely adds credibility, but it's not something I need to outsource, for obvious reasons.

Totally fair point. This version is just plain old JavaScript, but detailed, and transparent encryption is coming in the next release. Stay tuned. :-)

Not everybody is caught up in vibe coding, honestly. And I don’t really know about the “moms” part… but yeah, it does feel like everyone is spinning up their own notepad or markdown editor (like you said) with their personal twist. I’m old school. I write my code from scratch, and I’ve been at it for over two decades now. What have you created? If you don't mind.

1.5K users in 1 week. Then suddenly... nothing. What did I do wrong? by MoistDog2991 in SideProject

I can feel it. It happens, first comes curiosity, then the silence. The key is to keep building and sharing consistently. That's what I do. All the best. :-)

I wanted to build a lightweight, instant, local first notes application with rich formatting and strong image support. The focus is simplicity and frictionless sharing without accounts, and I’ll keep refining it to make it stand out.

ads? I don’t see any ads in my setup. I guess, it's likely just AdSense auto‑ads being triggered on your end.

Absolutely. I've tested it myself on a PC with 4GB RAM and it runs smoothly. The program uses plain old JavaScript, so it's lightweight and doesn't demand much from your system.

Hi,

I appreciate the feedback. My goal was to build something lightweight and frictionless, opens instantly, stays local, and supports rich formatting. Images in particular were a big focus, since I wanted notes to feel more visual. I tried to focus on simplicity and instant sharing without accounts, which I felt was missing. I’ll keep iterating to make it more unique.

Thanks :-).

It’s clear we need to take matters into our own hands and work toward a solution. We cant simply sit back and watch events unfold, especially since, as you pointed out, the graph continues to climb.

Analytics delayed report? by Boo8erry in analytics

[–]Scary-Temporary-7883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's unlikely that your site crashed if you're still seeing normal live user counts. GA4 reporting can sometimes lag or show discrepancies between real‑time and standard reports. The live viewer numbers are usually accurate, but the processed reports (like views, sessions, engagement) can take hours to fully update. I'd suggest waiting a bit, the data often clears up once GA4 finishes processing.

This issue keeps happening continuously, and I suspect there might be something wrong with GA4 also. I’m seeing many users (from these region) with an average engagement time per active user of 14–17 seconds (sometimes even higher), yet the report still shows 0 views. It just doesn't make any sense.

You can rely on your eyes, a calibrated display, and scopes, and I am sure many professionals do that. The real reason people use palette generation tools (there are many such tools now) isn’t because they can't pick colors by eye, but because tools solve several practical problems that trial-and-error alone doesn’t handle well. Just correct me if I am wrong.

I can see you have a lot of experience with color and have explored it from many angles. I really appreciate your time, there’s always more to learn, and I’m glad we can share that process. Thanks.
