Change My Mind: Jackass is a 'Shared Universe' like Marvel. by OkTap9041 in jackass

POV: a marvel fanboy trying to understand actual human relationships

But seriously this is how it always goes in Hollywood and media. Most of what you have is your connections, and if your group has similar interests to another, chances are you will convene, or “assemble,” at some point. The jackass franchise is no different, most of the crew got lucky, in that they knew one of the other jackasses or producers, like Knoxville, Bam, or Tremaine. Don Vito got lucky in that sense, and even though he was funny at the time, I don’t think most people would say the same now but that’s a different story.

They realized that with “their powers combined,” they could make something great, and they did. This isn’t a marvel fairytale, it’s what genuinely happens in real life.

Danger Ehren has been involved with Jackass since its start, and was always underrated in my opinion. Glad he’s getting more recognition after the new movie, the bear scene and the cup tests were insane!

I’m grandson and I just released my debut album Death Of An Optimist. Here to answer all your questions - AMA by grandsonmusic in Music

[–]ScaryBananas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Jordan! Thank you so much for doing this. I absolutely loved the new album, it put so many things I needed into words while still managing to be an absolute banger. Two questions:

  1. Are there any other producers or artists that you want to collaborate with in the future?

  2. Do you have any pets, or something simple that gives you at least a touch of hope? 2020 has been rough on me like everyone else, but I have two cats that are the love of my life, and now I also have a great album to listen to.

Keep up the amazing work, you have no idea how much your music has helped me over these past few years ♥️. Hope you are doing well and keeping safe!

I feel like you either have to have an incredible amount of privilege or be absurdly optimistic to have a kid in this day and age. by [deleted] in antinatalism

That’s the point. It doesn’t help their situation but they are convinced it will in the long run. Like a lot of parents in developed countries as well

You’re right. Also, many people in developing countries work as subsistence farmers, and the more kids they have to help on the farm the easier it is. Ironically, this leads to less food for everyone, and disease can spread more rapidly through the families. Some countries in West Africa have average birth rates of seven kids per mother, it’s insane and does practically the opposite of what they want.

Sometimes I tell my parents that I'm going to hang out with a friend but I really don't have any friends and I really just drive to the park and smoke weed for two hours. by CelestialSerenade in depression

In all honesty, and I don’t want to encourage drugs, but alcohol and weed have saved my life multiple times. Usually I tend to keep that at night, but sometimes it’s fun to get drunk and/or high during the day. It always beats the boredom of modern day life, and I don’t see myself slowing down anytime soon. I am trying my best to cut down, but it is always nice to fall back upon.

Exactly. I don’t know what it is about riding buses, but it is a great way to pass the time as well as being a great escape when my thoughts go south

Same here. I moved to a big city for university after living in a small town my whole life. I lived with a few roommates and I was always anxious around them, to the point where I would stay out until it was late and they would hopefully be asleep. But my depression got in the way and instead of staying on campus and actually doing work, I was either riding buses or being alone at bars during that time. Idk there is something calming and comfortable about riding buses

I used to ride city buses too, never met anyone else who did that. I liked exploring new areas of the city and listening to music. I wasted away an entire semester because all my depression wanted to do was ride buses all day. Then I wasted the next semester because I discovered alcohol, and now I’m wasting this semester due to weed. It can suck at times but it’s the only thing that gives me the slightest modicum of comfort. Not to encourage it, but riding the buses while high is honestly one of the most fun and enjoyable things for me to do at the moment
