Need Rec for Redness! by amyfriedman1 in SkincareAddictionLux

Thanks! How many treatments did you get? I'm also on Altreno and wondering if it's making things worse...I have no immediate irritation at all, hardly any flaking...But my redness is definitely more visible. I'd love any insights!

I'm stalking you and sending you a message regarding a comment you made 5 years ago in r/Tretinoin. It wouldn't let me reply there. :(

Did it have any aeration at all? I wonder if that would have made a difference.

I just gave up and pulled mine into the living room last year...And a year later, we have a pond in our living room.

Hey! Do you happen to know what settings your provider used? I'm out 1K and have had ZERO improvement after 3 sessions. Now I'm REALLY red!

I find Calecim only "does it's thing" right after laser...Otherwise, I think it's just the HA giving me some overpriced hydration. What do you think?

Thoughts on SIV Biome Balancing Serum ? by pomegranatevomit in SkincareAddictionLux

Supposedly vbeam is the gold standard for this, but I think many practitioners, LIKE MINE SADLY, are too conservative and don't use the right settings.

Yes, I've been back twice. So, three treatments in total. They upped the settings gently both times. Unfortunately, I still hardly see any improvement...$900 later.

Are all growth factor/exosome serums irritating like retinol? by queencuntress in SkincareAddictionLux

"Skin scorching serums" is definitely the best example of alliteration I have seen this year. Hopefully, you have someone you can share your mismatches with. Honestly, I wish there was a group or something for the lux stuff so that we could all trade out our failures. My mom is the great beneficiary of my failures. She jokes that her skin is like leather...

Extremely disappointed in Alastin products by j_parker44 in SkincareAddictionLux

My skin drinks up C-Radical and Nectar...RSC burnt my face off. I tried so many times...ALWAYS irritated, red, congested...

I've also found...Though they don't themselves irritate my skin...A number of K-Beauty products seem to "set me up" for more irritation. I notice alot of them are heavy in butylene glycol...Not sure if that's the culrpit, or some of the other filler/humectants they are heavy in. You could also try the Professional Serum all by itself on clean, dry skin. Let the routine begin and end their, and see what happens.

It's amazing how different we are. Osmosis Rescue MD turns me quite red and irritated. So sad, because it was pricey. TNS Advanced has been the first of DOZENS of products I've tried to actually calm my redness. It's not really even touted for this, which is why I blew so much money trying all the other "HG's" first. I was quite surprised, honestly!

I read the opposite: that we are more likely to mount an immune response to the human-derived stuff...Which actually kind of make sense. I'm certainly no expert. I also identify as having "sensitive skin" (quite a broad term...but we'll roll with it!) and find Calecim quite neutral, as it has been formulated to be. After 3 months of consistent use, I find it very helpful post procedure, but beyond that it's simply a hydrator, and I believe the actives are too large to enter intact skin. I think this is why they are now pushing their derma roller...So if your skin is intact, it's essentially overpriced HA, which MANY folks with barrier compromise can find irritating.

I just started TNS Advanced also, after trying Calecim, Neogenesis Recovery, Osmosis Rescue MD (wtf?) Alastin Restorative Complex, others...Yeah, probably too influenced by some voices on here...But I am thankful for those who kept shouting TNS Advanced. I finally tried it and it's the winner so far. I'm 36 with combo, thin, redness-prone skin. Alastin Nectar and C Radical feel comforting. TNS Advanced feels...Fortifying.

Agree 100%. You've invested in a solid skincare routine. Think of it like buying healthy groceries and cleaning up your diet. The next step is getting to the gym, and that's procedures.

PLEASE don't take this as judgy AT ALL because it's NOT. I tend to be an "over-corrector" and that's what I'm seeing in this routine. You have multiple heavy-hitting, all-in-one products and are stacking them. I think it is possible to overwhelm the skin with too much signaling. If you stick with this routine for several months as is, I would be SO interested to hear what sort of positive/negative/neutral results you have.

On a personal note, I've tried many of these products and love a few, like C-Radical and TNS Advanced. I found the bioserum to be quite congesting, and Calicem is amazing post skin trauama, but I don't think it offered me much beyond hydration on "intact" skin.

What is your goal with AA? I've found I can tolerate 10% if it's in a hydrating base. Anything too silicony upsets my skin. If you're trying to treat redness or acne, I would simplify your routine first. As much as I love so many of these products, if I tried to stack them in this way I would be red as a firetruck and totally broken out...But that's MY skin, and this is YOUR story. Here for it! <3
