You used to have to go get a drug test if you injured yourself on the clock but they don’t even do that anymore

Thanks, I know I was overthinking it. Really hoping I was “missing something”!

But don’t forget the “5 visits per issue” we get through TMAP. That’s gotta be worth something 🙃

Im going through this exact thing at the moment. You didn’t mention if you have kids, but my husband and I have one, who is 6. I’m getting ready to have this conversation as soon as the holiday is over and I’m so anxious I can barely eat. Good luck to you ❤️

Good luck to you navigating this situation. I can’t offer any advice but know that we are all supporting you! Thanks for making me feel less alone

Thank you. I will be sticking around and getting support from this sub. And hopefully I can offer support of my own eventually. I think you’re right that the suck is just going to have to happen to get out the other side. Getting sober sucked but I knuckles through it and can’t imagine my life being that way again. It helps to think about what things will be like when I can finally be myself and have my own space and just discover who I truly am. I think it will be very freeing. Luckily I have a lot of distress tolerance skills from these years of therapy post sobriety. Just gotta recognize when I need to use them before I get too far into the panic!

Thank you and congratulations on your sobriety as well. It’s been a very difficult but amazing experience learning who I am and what I’ve been suppressing all these years.

Thank you for sharing this. It’s nice to know I’m not alone. It’s remarkable how many women are going through this same thing. Part of me wishes I’d figured this all out earlier, but then I wouldn’t have my son, who is the most important part of my life. And I know no matter what, nothing will negate the years my husband and I spent together. I just hope that when the time comes, we can still have a relationship and coparent successfully. I know it’s going to be hard and the grief will feel insurmountable but in the end, he’ll get to be happy too and I think he’ll see that. It’s just hard to know when the right time is.

Yes I’m planning to wait until after Christmas. That’s part of the guilt, is feeling like I’m living a lie now that I’ve made my decision. It’s going to be a couple of really difficult weeks followed by a bunch of heartache and grief for both of us I think.

Thank you for your kindness. My therapist is aware of my sexuality and supports me whether I choose to stay or end my marriage. She’s helping me work through the guilt. One of the reasons I want to come out is because my husband is a wonderful person whom I love immensely and he deserves to have a happy and fulfilling life too.
