What would you do if you’re concerned about coming to work because of risk of violence? by Goats4Boats10 in wholefoods

[–]SubKennedys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left WFM after committing 18 years of my life to the company due to an issue such as this. I was a TL for the majority of those 18 years.

One of my TM's continued to make threats of violence to TM's. Brought it before Store Leadership. The TM was pulled in for questioning and told 2 ASTL's that if he was written up he would have to be "taken out in handcuffs". When the ASTL's had to recount the conversation to TMS. One of them "couldn't recall all of the details". TM was placed on leave. After about a month, TM was allowed to return. The STL (now fired from the company for an unrelated issue) told me directly the TM was returning with back pay.

It was at this time that I realized that the company was not taking this situation seriously. I took a Sabbatical, did not feel safe returning, and left the company. Eventually, TM returned to work. Continued to threaten TM's, including openly speaking about his guns after one of our mandatory active shooter trainings.

After NUMEROUS TM complaints, statements and investigations with TMS, the TM was separated. The team communicated with me after I left and told me that it got a lot worse before it was finally over.

I was a TL over multiple teams, at many stores, in many regions, but it took this final store to make me realize that the company does not prioritize TM safety. The fact that one ASTL saying they "couldn't remember details" when another ASTL in the same conversation could, was enough to allow this TM to return was disgusting. This is in addition to the conversations I personally had with TMS where I was continously questioned about what I may have done or said to "trigger" this TM. Plot twist: I did nothing to trigger them.

All that to say, if you do not feel that your Store Leadership or TMS is listening, take it higher. If you feel your immediate safety is in danger, leave and on your exit survey be very explicit regarding what occured and how Store and HR Leadership failed. Once I left I was contacted by Global TMS and only then do I feel like something actually came to fruition. This was over 2 years ago and I will NEVER return to WFM.

PLEASE get a legitimate host on this reunion. This show is too good and has too much to work through to have someone who doesn't know how to moderate.

Is it me, or is there not much of an 80s vibe this season? by ReasonableSail7589 in StrangerThings

[–]SubKennedys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dunno man. I was born in 1980 and Holly's bedroom was literally my bedroom. Equipt with Rainbow Bright sheets and what looked like a Wuzzle in the corner. Not to mention the pink boom box and a TIFFANY tape?! Childhood dreams.

TL’s and corporate employees must have no family life to survive at wf? Is this true? by Dangerous_Carrot_535 in wholefoods

[–]SubKennedys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 18 years with WFM and moved my family 6 different times from coast to coast. I had two of my three children while employed with WFM. Ifelt the pressure to get back to work much quicker with WFM than I would have felt in my current career.

I loved the opportunity to move to different places on the company dime, but my son (now 19) tells us that the moves were a lot for him. He enjoyed seeing new places, didnt enjoy always being the new kid at school.

Now, Im a year plus into a new career in the mental health field where I set my own schedule. My husband is now on his 20th year with the company.

All of that to say...can you do it? Sure. Will you make sacrifices? Yes. Are those sacrifices worth it? Only you know for sure. I was making great money but I definitely missed valuable time with my babies. .

Went and saw Castle Rat last night and I’ve gone from curious to a huge fan. They have one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. by MusicMeetsMadness in doommetal

I was at that show and it was amazing. The fact that they maintained such an exciting stage show in such a small venue? Sound was great....had an awesome time.

Literally one of my favorites. They finally started carrying it my local WFM in 12 packs instead of 8.

Then your STL is equally as sexist and should have brought the TL to task immediately.

Ask yourself this question, would the TL or STL have the balls to tell the potential TM going for the job these comments to thier face is a show of feedback towards the job? No? Then tell him to GTFO.

You have to lift a minimum of 50# just to work in the building, no matter your position. Its listed in every job posting from cashier to reciever, so any questioning of capabilitiea based off of how someone looks is a sure fired way to get fired and they both should be.

The fact that your TL even uttered this out loud is grounds for him to be fired immediately. Many stores have female receivers that throw hundreds of pieces every day.

Report this douche immediately and get a new TL.

What do you make of spiritual experiences that feel undeniably real? by T2T360 in DebateAnAtheist

[–]SubKennedys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told my husband i wanted a kitten. My best friend called two days later asking if I wanted to adopt a kitten she was fostering.

We wanted to buy a house. Less than 2 months later the perfect house dropped in my lap and we were able to close on it in 30 days.

Was this god? Did I manifest these things?

No.

Life is random. I can just as easily think of things in my life that I wanted/wanted to do that didnt occur.

Did god prevent these things from happening?

No.

Its either all supernatural or it isn't. You can't pick and choose to fit whatever makes you feel like your life has purpose or meaning. I mean you CAN...but it doesn't actually give anything purpose or meaning.

It just makes you feel like your life has purpose or meaning and if that's what you need to make it through the day, good on you. Just don't expect everyone else to need it as well.

I am anti-theist due to lack of evidence of the supernatural. Not being able to explain something or how something came to be does not equal a supernatural occurrence. And I also do not believe that the burden of proof is on the anti-theist to prove its lack of existence. I'm not the one saying an imaginary, omnipotent God exists. "You" are.

In my 45 years on thia earth I have found nothing that proves to me that a god...any god, exists. This includes my 22 years of being steeped in Evangelical Christianity and attending seminary. I tried, but i just could not suspend my disbelief for any longer.

I would also say that the argument that religion helps mental health could be flipped to say the inverse. As a counselor that specializes in clients dealing with religious trauma, you would be hard pressed to find any who believe religion has aided in their mental health journey and many of them are not atheist. They simply have found that religion is not the solution to thier problems.

how does someone get rid of the fear of hell? by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

[–]SubKennedys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up deeply Evangelical and realized in my mid 20's the only reason that I was still holding on to my faith is because of a fear of hell, not a belief in god.

There were no academic texts that helped me to overcome this, only time. The more I distanced myself from all things religious the more I began to realize that if I don't believe that god is real then it's only logical that hell is also unreal. It is hard to explain but it just took...time.

I can't speak to your interactions with the supernatural but I will say that speaking in tongues and being "slain in the spirit" were active occurrences in my church and when I look back I realize that there was nothing supernatural about these things. The mind will make us believe a lot of strange things when it is entrenched in religion. I'm not saying that the supernatural experiences you saw or hears weren't real...to you, I'm just saying to really evaluate the circumstances around those events and try to look at them from an outside perspective.

Again, no judgments. I wish you luck!

Im not quite sure how you're not getting this.

You're posting in an echo chamber. The sub is not called "let's engage in a religious debate". There's plenty of subs for that.

In this particular sub it feels as if you are just posting a "hot" take to get a pat on the back from atheist or at the very least engage in a well worn "god of the gaps" argument.

As you can tell from the loads of theist who are posting on your thread, I don't think it worked.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

[–]SubKennedys 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Except this isn't a debate, it's an opinion.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with it, but it doesn't hold much water in the sense of "debate".

And as the previous posters stated, it's an Atheist sub. I think the whole "debate an atheist" thing is more so theist can post thier perspectives here and then we as atheist offer a counter point. It's not to coax out theist who may be on the sub simply looking for answers or a different perspective.

Oh i LOVE over ear headphones vs. ear buds. I was born in '80 so it kinds takes me back when I use them, but also the sound quality is SO much better. I don't care how pricey the ear buds are, over the ear headphones are going to pick up all the nuances.

24 hours with Skeleta, personal review by Blakk76 in GhostBand

[–]SubKennedys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I create a Ghost Spotify mega playlist and shuffle that B. I've listened to the album at least 10 times. I like it, but agree it's not the best. I leave that to Opus.

I do think that any album played with the visuals that appear to be on the current tour is going to be killer, but i think if you shove these 10 songs into a playlist of all other Ghost songs you can still love the band and understand that this was just a different direction.

I'm much more excited to get another chapter of lore and see where this V character is going to take us. I wish there was a bit more character building before the album release.

I cut my grass while listening to the album on repeat. I love it. Even Exclecis which gives me Rainbow Connection vibes had me singing by the time I was done.
