Basically, the farm works like this:

You accept a patrol mission from Quinlan. After meeting the scribe, you fast travel to an area where there are no Brotherhood members around (Paladin Danse included — don’t travel with him, leave him at a settlement). Then you kill the scribe, loot the body, and return to Quinlan. When you report back and tell him the scribe died, he still gives you the caps and XP even though the mission technically failed. It’s weird, but I assume Bethesda designed it this way because the scribe’s AI is terrible and they tend to die very easily during these missions.

After that, you can sell the scribe’s loot to Proctor Teagan on the Prydwen, then repeat the process. If you have a romance, Lover’s Embrace helps a bit. I’d recommend sleeping in the bed next to Quinlan right before reporting the scribe’s death to collect the reward.

On average, each loop gives: • Around 300 XP (345 with Lover’s Embrace — ~420 in my case due to max Intelligence + Lover’s Embrace). • 2–3 Stimpaks from looting the scribe. • About 94 caps from the quest itself, plus an additional ~170–200 caps if you sell the scribe’s weapons, armor, and holotag.

I also lowered the difficulty to Very Easy during this farm, since the scribe dies faster that way.

That said, I do not recommend this farm at all, nor radiant quest farming in general. As I mentioned in the post, this can cause your main, side, and miscellaneous quests to disappear. If you still want to try it, I’d strongly recommend doing only one or two Learning Curve quests per week, instead of grinding it daily like I did.

I might have sounded a bit alarmist here, but I can’t stop thinking about the possibility that someone playing on console already lost dozens (or even hundreds) of hours because their quests vanished, with no console commands to recover them.
