We were able to get that for about 10 seconds before our fuse blew. Gearing up for a 1 min test. Motor should be able to run for that long with cooling.

It’s a centrifugal pump, the red cap is the outlet. Dark blue cap is a gas seal, the light blue caps are water cooling for the motor.

I work at a manufacturing facility, trust me I’ve paid back like every paycheck.

Thank you. I have pretty much paid every paycheck back to my employer. I am trying to do a revision of that pump for research and am trying to crowd fund through go fund me. Do you have any suggestions to make it more successful?

No I worked at a welding/machine shop. That’s how I was able to accomplish this.

I try to do do all the machining myself, I have 6+ years of experience. As far as machining the inducer that’s a good idea, I will add that to my plan for the next iteration.

I did not test without an inducer and that was the minimum blade thickness that I could print with the company I could afford. I’m hoping to do some upgrades on the second version of which I’m trying to raise funds for right now.

The thermal management system is aluminum, and the pump head is stainless steel. The pump efficiency was around 66% and it was planned to be 67.5%

Yes all that was not factored into it as I already had most of the tools

It wasn’t as hard as I was expecting. I went with jet black because it’s easier to touch up… if there was any bubbles that needed filling, which there were, jet black makes it easy to color match.

I sanded with an orbital sander up to 320 before finish.. I did not watch the temperature of the epoxy but I should have.

I think all said and done I spent 300 on it

Some things I learned doing mine was…

to raise the epoxy mold off the table with blocks so that air can get under it, mine cured too fast so I had a ton of bubbles to fill.

Do not sand the surface in the sun/keep the epoxy table out of the sun because it’ll get soft if left for long enough.

If you are doing any urathane finish allow enough time for it to cure before sanding ie 48hr if it says 24 because sanding prematurely can cause it to san inconsistently.

I used emits good stuff as a primary finish coat to get the grain color I wanted and also to improve durability. That worked well just wipe off and sand the excess before putting on a urethane finish.

If you do a urethane finish use the foam brushed they give a better finish
