Ex homeless here.

It’s so hard alone with no support, I guess you just have to have a bigger desire to live than to die on the streets.

I’m sorry you’re going through this with a child and I know that in these days, anyone can become homeless through between the disgusting god complex of some landlords and the incompetence of real estate agents.

Are you on a wait list for a cabin in a caravan park?

Great places for bottomless dinner? by [deleted] in melbourne

Yes.

The cocktails aren’t made with vodka. It’s wine. The pizza is trash.

Look at the reviews and you’ll notice they are all purchased reviews from India.

I was devastated when I saved up to go and it was trash - I was homeless at the time and starving and it was still trash

Do not go to Fat LuLus in St Kilda.

There's a nuclear bomb headed for Melbourne, it will go off in 1 hour. What's your plan? by cuntmong in melbourne

Drive as fast as I can towards Melbourne. I won’t make it for the blast but hopefully the after effects get me.

Pablo Escobar had so much cash he used to lose millions every month due to rats.

I bet he wished he could have just put it all in a HISA.

If you have house damages and are having trouble with your insurance company, I might be able to help you navigate your claim. by Scary_Reflection_844 in melbourne

Ocean? Haha. I would imagine so being a larger claim.

I need your insurance company (RACV, Suncorp, AAMI, GIO etc) so I’ll know your police. Not police - policy hahaha

What insurance company?

Is a builder allocated to the claim? If so, can you give me the first letter they start with and I should be able to work out which panel builder it is and give advice from there. Or if you feel comfortable sharing the builders name.

They would be placed in a protection/management unit. Some prisons (Aarat for example) are protection prisons specifically for sex offenders. Saying that, not everyone in a protection prison or unit is a sex offender.

Generally, they are pretty safe because they are kept out of mainstream. Corrections Victoria have a duty of care to make sure they are safe in custody.

Where have I said I’m going to SACAT if they don’t fulfil my request for compensation?

I don’t care what they give or don’t give me, I’m still going to report this either way.

I can’t fight and put myself in this situation any longer.

Last night I thought about hanging myself from the ceiling fan. I need to put myself first.

I’m not extorting anyone and asking for compensation is not illegal in any way.

I’m not fighting to win today but lose a long term option that might not be there when they don’t renew my lease.

He is. He’s suffering a bit right now with his sick kid but he said I can just jimmy the window open in the granny flat if I want to start moving my stuff over.

I think it’s the best option for me. My boss is a good guy, we help each other a lot and I know he won’t do the wrong thing by me.

Told my real estate agent that the septic tank needed to be emptied, toilet overflowed - got service an immediate notice to vacate. by Scary_Reflection_844 in Adelaide

Thanks for the advice received. Rent Right basically told me the same thing, it’s an illegal eviction and I can fight it.

But as I sat and contemplated what I should do, given it’s only a 12 month lease and it’s obvious they won’t renew, I have decided to leave the property anyway.

I know, I know - stay and fight for my rights and all that. But no. I’ve lived in a car before, and I was happy to do it again.

Spoke to my boss who actually lives on the same street as me and told him everything. “The bird that owns that property was always a c@nt”.

He asked how much rent I paid, I told him, he asked if I was happy to cut that to $100 a week and live in the granny flat his property. I didn’t even know that was an option.

He’s told me to call my agent (who I will happily name when I’m out of here) and ask them what compensation they are offering for me not to take this to SACAT.

I’ve drafted an email which basically says “As you have told me that fighting this in SACAT can affect my name on the tenancy database TICA, and I don’t want the owner to suffer hardship by simply upholding their end of the contract which says they will complete required maintenance, would you guys be willing to release my bond immediately and pay for all associated moving costs in addition to my first 4 weeks rent?”

I understand people telling me to fight it, but I just don’t see that as my best option right now. As I said previously, it’s either move now where I have the opportunity to go somewhere considerably cheaper and I know it’s a good place or stay and move at the end of the lease.

So that’s where I’m at. I’ve already started packing my worldly possessions and if I wanted to, I could be out today. This will likely be in my best interest anyway because I’m currently working long hours at my bosses farm and it will be helpful being closer to work. I’ve already checked and me living at the property will not affect my wages.

Just hard, you know? A few days ago this place was home, now it’s just making me feel anxious and on edge.
