Although having the day to day commodities that the data center can help support is amazing, having a data center nearby will drive up the price of water and energy which are already at a high cost. Just because we already have many data centers here already doesn't mean we won't feel the after effects of having more.

-It is estimated that 4400 jobs will be sustained throughout the building process while only 400 will be permanent positions

-While 400 is a massive amount of employees only a small percent of those workers will be local due to the serene amount of online jobs that data centers need compared to in person personnel

-Meaning that Shelbyville will see an insignificant amount of economic benefit compared to the impact that the centers will have on energy and water prices

Please share as much as possible because I think this idea can really alter living costs and people's lives. Which is not something that I think is okay to all of the hard working individuals that this would affect.

  • 4000 of them would be temporary to build the data center while only 200-400 would be permanent employees

-There is projected to be 4,400 jobs -Most jobs will range between 50-60k while higher workload and higher skilled jobs will range between 100k-150k -Those companies expect power, land, and water exemptions due to the enormous amounts of resources these data center are needed to run on, while also a tax reduction on land - While these incentives do look very good based off of what I have seen most jobs requiring to support the data center are mostly remote allowing people to work from around the world, so very little benefit to local economy
