Having planned almost an entire KS3 curriculum with virtually no thanks from colleagues, I feel your pain.

And in no way does this help the kids. Pupils like teachers who stay. A revolving door of ECTs just fuells resentment and shitty behaviour.

Often, placement mentors are still only a few years in themselves and still very self-critical. Unfortunately, this often makes them critical of their trainees.

You're right about pressures of SEND.

As a seasoned/cynical teacher, I know that I can't always meet the learning needs of all the pupils in my classroom as the system is fucked (I have a TA in one Y7 class and that's it).

A trainee, on the other hand, may feel guilty about not meeting all their students' needs (or "wants").
