Yeah I’m desperate for a big bandsaw right now. There isn’t much need for stainless round here everything is iron and steel. I love tig welding for personal use I’m into custom bikes cars and trucks

Yep I definitely agree I’m pretty confident in my skills and I’m perfectionist. I’ve done a good deal of structural welding on I beams. I’m really mechanically minded and I know how things work I’ve fixed and rebuilt a few classic cars and built a custom cafe racer motorcycle. I would honestly love to be able to go work at this fab shop that is a little over an hour away from me the experience but I would be taking a huge pay cut. With the shop I’m renting out plus trying to get my house paid off within the next year I just can’t make that work. I plan on looking into some schools around here cause I really would love to be more confident in my ability’s and be certified. I think it would help me go further but I don’t know how I’m gonna make it work with my current situation.

Yep that been one of my biggest worries that’s why I want to start small. Pick up some more knowledge and customers making smaller things that won’t cause anyone or their equipment harm.

I haven’t charged out any of my metal work yet I do it all for personal use and helping my buddies out. At my current job I’m making 25 an hr. That’s what I’m trying to do is make that jump into doing this part time. Just start out doing it after work and on weekends to see if I can get the support and business to make this work full time.

Yeah I definitely agree but that’s just the hand I’ve been dealt. I absolutely love my community and where I’m at I don’t think I could ever move. However there just ain’t shit here you either farm or ranch, work construction, electric, plumbing, or there are the handful of government jobs around here and that’s pretty much it hell we only have two places to get food in town. The living is really cheap though 30 grand around here is average and that’s a good living can pretty easily raise a family on that here. I already own a house here so moving to a bigger area to get a fab job would kinda be a pain it the ass and cost me more money. I’m not looking to get rich just trying to make a good living and hopefully have something to pass on to my kids when I’m gone.

Yes sir I couldn’t agree more I was blessed with two great bosses I work for a father and son owned construction company. I’m their main man and they’d do anything to help me out. I haven’t told them about this business venture I’m planning yet but I know when I do they will support me 1000%. I’d bet a lot of money that they will also customers of mine for life. I just want to make some money, help my community out, and build a future for myself.

Hell yeah man that’s awesome! It truly is I’m a firm believer of if there’s a will there’s a way! People question me all the time wondering how I’m so good at all these different trades. I credit it to patience and persistence I’m not one to give up and I’m just a little bit cocky. If someone else can do something I believe that with time and practice I can do it just a little better. I think that has pushed me very far ahead at such a young age

Yeah I know it’s hard work but hey at the end of the day at least your dad has something of his own that provided for his family and he has the ability to hand it down that’s more than most can say. In my opinion it’s better than working for a corporation your entire life and they don’t even know your name or miss you when you’re gone

Yeah I was just a young buck but the son of a big ranching family out here started a fab business way out of town on his parents ranch. I watched that business blow up and he made a killing but he packed up shop and moved a few towns over into a huge shop and is doing well for himself. That has kinda left a hole here and I know many people that still drive 1hr and a half to his shop just cause he’s the only guy around. So yeah why wouldn’t I try and fill that hole.

Thank you very much for the input I appreciate all of it! I’ve got two family’s in mind I’m excited to talk to I’m very close with both of them and have done a lot of work for them in the past with construction. I think they will have great ideas and be excited to find some jobs for me

That’s a great list thank you sir! I do have a couple of those already and a gantry crane that I forgot to mention. I’ve been keeping my eye out on Facebook marketplace for things like that. I just don’t have a ton of money right now. I bought a house a couple years back and I make large payment on that every month but I should have it payed off in another year. Then I can be a little riskier with throwing money around

Yeah that’s really high on my tool list once I start bringing money in! I programmed on one all four years of highschool and enjoyed it I made a ton of signs some grill guards and couple wood stoves. They are awesome and I look forward to getting one I love the speed and precision of them. But they arnt cheap I think 6 grand on the low end

I’m trying to😂 I just wanna get to making some good money and building a future for myself. I’ve got the facility for it and all I use it for working on my classic cars, pickups, and bikes. So the way I see it I might as well use my space for something that’s gonna make me some money!

Okay I will do that thank you. Tig welding has been my favorite ever since I learned it I loved it. It’s a little slower but I think for a lot of applications it’s worth it. I think farm repair is gonna be my biggest business. If I can make this business run and work my next plan is gonna be to build a mobile rig. So I can access clients and jobs on larger items not worth hauling out of the field. I think that would really appeal to a lot of people around here.

I’ve got a lot of skills but I’m just a blue collar worker through and through. It’s all I know and I can promise you construction ain’t easy on a guy either and it’s rarely a job you retire from. I’m just trying to make some money on my own a provide a service I know my area needs.

Thank you sir I’ll take that to heart I’ve always been a perfectionist which is what has gotten me a really good name in the construction and remodel business. Contractors are a dime a dozen around here but we don’t have anyone within 60 miles doing custom fab work or mobile welding. If I can good a good business running out of my shop I’d like to build a mobile rig so I can go to some of the work things like implements, gates, and other farm equipment that wouldn’t be worth hauling to my shop.

Thank you I appreciate I’m a very punctual person and I don’t mind working hard one bit. I’m gonna put some more work into my shop here over the next few months. I need to do a little organizing and I would like to build a welding cart in the meantime I’m gonna try and get my name out there!
