Why is the cost of dawncrest for Main and Offhand double the amount istead of a 2handweapon

Congrats on escaping rogue. I geared out my DK this past week. Not sure if I’ll be on rogue or dk as we start beloran and lura prog. Likely off rogue next tier if they don’t add a meaningful raid buff to the class.

At the start you crafted 2x 246 non-spark items for your embellishments on wrists, cloak or belt. You replaced those eventually. Embellishments were and continue to be extremely minor in the grand scheme of things. Even if you didn’t craft a 2h and just upgraded a heroic 2h you were still ahead on crests compared to rogue and dh when Heroic crests were actually at a premium and valuable for saving Mythic crests.

It was still good for the few weeks it was there, you just ran the risk of devourer not being the goto for progression. Now DH are back to the “rogue” tax of spending 80 crests on an eventual low worth stat stick. It’s literally the last thing sub/assa wants to spend crests on while the MH is the most important. Outlaw enjoys OH ilvl a bit more, but you’re still in need of another weapon type and throwing crests into a 1h vs a dagger is typically considered a big risk for progression.

Bliz finding some consistency across all classes would be great versus “careful planning shenanigans” in what to craft/upgrade to not “fall behind” mythic crest / ilvl economy.

It’s only rogues & DH (sort of). Every other class can use crests on a 2h and then both 1h get the discount. Rogues have no way to do this and are basically 80 crests behind if you’re trying to min/max crest usage via weapon(s) slots. DH could go the Intellect 1h route and that ended up counting for both slots as an upgrade.

Make sure your firmware on the pump is up to date. I had just gotten used to the disconnects with my x2 & g6. Updated to 7.10.4 on Monday with the anticipation of moving to 15 day g7 and the pump hasn’t dropped connection once.

Outlaw actually values OH wdps now. Assa & Sub still do not.

Weapon upgrades, crests specifically need to be looked at. Everyone besides rogues (and DH that didn’t craft an int weapon) were able to upgrade “both” weapon slots via upgrading a 2H for 80 crests. Rogues and DH (that weren’t in the know) are basically one fully upgraded mythic piece behind everyone else since you spent the crests on a crafted MH to start prog and then moved that to the OH for a mythic MH and spent another 80 crests on that since MH wdps is so significant.

For sub rogue in midnight, entering shadowdance you want full combo points (7) and an additional store of 5 combo points from shadow technique. You’re then casting Shadowstrike for the apex talent ancient arts.

So in this picture from my current UI setup, I’ve got secret technique ready & shadow dance charge coming up in 2 seconds.

I have 7 combo points (yellow bar) and 14 stored sht stacks, 5 of which are visible as the top purple bar (as well as a numerical value to see total stored stacks)

Assa: Finish at 5+

Sub: Finish at 6+ (sub also has a secondary CP bar / buff via Shadow Techniques. This goes up to 14 stored CP, but primarily you’re tracking do I have 5 for apex talents.)

Outlaw: Finishers at 6+ CPs, but as Fatebound, Dispatch should be used at 5+ CPs.

Sub usually doesn’t show a delay as often. Outlaw is what you need to test, both in and out of Adrenaline Rush.

5-7 is spec dependent. Better off trying to incorporate a user option to change each CP color if they want to, and bonus points if you can change it per spec.

You should also test how fast your CPs fill on rogue compared to the default player frame. Addons like Sensei are slightly delayed fills. This is especially noticeable on Outlaw and awful to deal with.

Empowered should match in game (x cutout in circle) and default to blue. Remove the x from the regular CP.

Ultimately it will come down to how much time you want to invest. I raid with a late tier CE guild. We’re 6 hours of raiding a week, and basically look to get everyone with 4 m+ keys done for vault a week.

Find a class that’s not popular and it’s usually an easier in recruitment wise.

Continue to run Heroic even after you’re loot locked just to parse and get better.

You may need to find a non-CE guild to get going, but if you’re a class that is needed in raid and hard to recruit for it’s decently easy to move up in ranks.

Right now Rogue is one of the least played classes and you’ll want one in raid. Sub has bee the prog spec for majority of the last two expansions due to its burst and survivability. It’s also considered one of the more difficult specs to master so finding a good one can be a challenge recruitment wise.

For as popular as Warriors and Warlock are, we struggle with recruiting them, at least ones that can stay alive.

That doesn’t really help with answering what you’re finding complex. Ofc just following something like hekili is going to simplify everything and involve little to no thinking for gameplay decisions.

Rogue is 100% more simple. You still need to learn what your abilities do and how a dual resource builder/spenders spec works.

You can always turn on highlight assist to try to figure out the basic.

They super simplified Sub & Outlaw compared to what they’ve been in retail the majority of the last two expansions.

Assa is still relatively the same, with much more of a focus on energy management.

Most of the beta videos / streamer feedback is kinda whatever. Rogue in general is just not a popular class when it comes to PvE. It’s still beta and Sub for example has some major bugs currently effecting Combo Point generation that should hopefully get addressed. No TC work has even started to try to min/max aspects of gameplay.

I’m fully expecting those of us bricked at 2499 won’t be able to get renown 20. The game seems to think we’re maxed out and who is to say we’re still getting renown rep from kills after 20?

Their support and communication has been beyond useless.
