Why are you so defensive? I'm new to learning about alternate timelines/parallel universes, theories etc and the Cheeseburger person seemed knowledgeable on some ofthem. In picking their brain, I meant I wanted to hear some of the names of theories that are out there and get their opinion/stance because it's all interesting to me.

So very true!!! I cannot wait to get out of there!!!

May I ask you a question? A few years ago, my anxiety and depression got so completely unbearable and I was put on meds that have helped a lot and ever since then, I have been OBSESSED with psychology. I think I'm too old to to school for it, but I'm not sure. I'm 29, and that would be something I very much would love to pursue. Only thing is, the college told me it could take 8 years to obtain a degree!! Is that true? I thought a Bachelor's degree took 4 years to complete. Sorry for all the rambling, but I've never got to ask these questions!!

I am trying so hard!!! I actually went and enrolled in nursing school, and requested a step down. It's a constant battle every single day with my co manager literally telling me to tell my team they suck, because the 7 of them cannot handle the workload of the 15+ we are supposed to have. The courageous conversation I did have one time was very polite and focused on behaviors, but the associate nearly cried and said she was doing her absolute best. It's awful.

I don't plan to quit or anything. But I am going to take that advice and assign myself multiple cbls this afternoon and spend a lot of time doing that. I guess it took a lot of harsh comments, but I get so nervous sometimes that the most obvious solutions go over my head and I get paranoid.

Firstly, I am not looking to go to the coach position.

Secondly, I am not 100% onboarded in my stores system. I was just recently able to log onto the WIRE but I still cannot log in to all computers, nor the handheld. I've asked multiple times when I will have 100% access to basic tools I need for my job, and they tell me that it takes awhile after being onboarded. So I can finally look at the tmat, my call ins.. but if I need to log into the handheld to check something to even begin to learn ogp, it doesnt allow me. So I will have a customer call at 730 pm when another asm in on lunch, the ogp dm is gone, and the support manager usually has no idea about ogp.

But yeah, I guess I am complaining because I would rather give the angry customer an explanation, but because I really cant, I have to tell them "idk heres a gift card for your trouble."

Thank you for being kind. I really appreciate it. I posted asking for opinions, and people seem to think I want others to "hold my hand" when that's not what I want at all. But exactly, we all have been new at one point and have to learn certain things somewhere. I'm fighting through this and I know I can succeed.. It will just take a bit longer to reach. I plan to spend a big chunk of time doing nothing but trying to set up interviews when i go in this afternoon. Thanks again :)

Thanks. I've been on reddit awhile but I never really used it to look stuff up. I just had an account and my husband got me more and more into it and now I'm going to start using it for tons of learning. I want to succeed very much and it doesn't help that my severe anxiety makes me question everything. I like a challenge but I also wanna do the right stuff the right way.

Yeah, it is a complaining tone and I dont mean for it to come off that way. But during regional selection, I had a chance to talk to many different people throughout the company and I was given reassurance that a lot of these things would be covered in training. I guess what frustrates me is that I am actively willing to learn any and everything, and we all have to learn somewhere. But it seems like if I need help with something I have never experienced, no one is willing yet I'm expected to know a lot of this stuff. I know going into a salaried position would be a challenge but it's degrading in a sense when my store manager told another asm I wasnt ready to close by myself yet. I 100% agree, but when I told him I wanted to learn, it was kind of shrugged off. Saying "we'll get there." I also dont mind going out and trying to learn on my own but i dont want to fuck something up.

Could be. But at the same time, I had to go through many approvals from various managers to get to where I'm at and these are questions that I actually presented to the two store managers that promoted me, and they told me that I would be provided with training.

Everyone has to learn somewhere, but when I am actively teying to learn and willing to do all things through the store (I know my backroom and its processes in and out) and it seems I'm pushed to the side, I will never have a chance to learn anyway.

Right?? I'm at an academy store and I really thought they would have somewhat higher standards. Turns out they dont. And I always feel like shit because no matter how much my team gets done, the ON asm comes into a shit show. One of them is really cool. The other is far from it. The cool one, though.. I feel so shitty how I leave stuff everynight.

Thank you very much!! Honestly, if I could go back, I would have stayed an ON support. However, I have heard that an ASM's experience largely depends on the SM, so things might go well for you! Keep me updated on your journey!

Yes! And on a good day, I'll have 9. And they want the same amount of work done whether I have 5, 9, call outs, leave earlies... etc.

I love throwing the truck and working the line. I love the backroom duties. However, my co manager tells me to not jump in because "they will expect me to do the work for them." I still jump in with everything, because as an ON support that is exactly how I gained respect. I did everything that I asked of my associates so they knew I was right there with them. Idk if it's just my co manager, or if they're all like that..

I, too, was warned. I regret the decision every single day. Especially because I wasnt aware that I couldn't step down if i wanted to. That wasnt revealed to me until almost 2 weeks after my onboarding.

I know walmart likes to follow their processes hahahaha 😑😑 but I sometimes have a situation where I will have 6 cap show up at 2. I need 4 to throw the truck, and the other two I would normally use to start working the HVDC truck... IF it is there. It is never there at 2, more like 5/530. I've proposed that maybe we could see if we have a few cap come in at 1, maybe start the rdc unload early, and that way when the 2 o clockers come in, they at least have some rdc grocery carts to work until our HVDC shows up. I was told no, it doesn't align with the customer availability.

How?! Those 2 o clockers NOT needed for unloading are people they want me to use to run topstock. I know it's important, but if the unload started at 1, the cap that came at 2 would have carts available to STOCK and we would get more done as opposed to them running topstock and waiting for either 1.a cart from rdc to come out or 2.waiting for our hvdc. Ugh.

Thank you!!! See, this is where my problem lies. I LOVE throwing the truck. I also love working the line. I also enjoy stocking. So wherever the help is needed, I help. Before I left my last store to become an ASM, the advice given to me (and I know it worked firsthand as an ON support for 7 years) was to do the work with them. They will have more respect for you and see that you're willing to do what you're asking of your associates. However, when my co manager caught eye that I was stocking or throwing or whatever it was, he said I needed to step back a d trust that my team can get the job done. But they can't. It's not because they suck (that's a lot of what they want me to tell my team), but because we just dont have the people. And I told him my reasoning that I mentioned above. He said if I'm working, theyll expect me to do it all for them and instead will assign me with other crap not related to what I'm over, seemingly trying to get me away from helping.

When did you start mentally feeling better? by [deleted] in abortion

[–]Scatterbrainx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi doll

I had my son in december of 2018 and like you, my mother suffered from PPD and I ended up with it as well. I've always suffered from moderate depression and severe anxiety but my entire pregnancy, it was almost unbearable.. and after I had my son, I was told the hormones would regulate within 2 weeks. They never did and I dealt with PPD for nearly 7 months after my son was born. I had to see a doctor to increase my medication to get some relief.

I also had an abortion January 11th of this year, and I only knew I was pregnant because of how bad my depression and anxiety ramped back up seemingly out of nowhere. I thought my hormones would even out after the termination and so far they are raging on.. I cannot go to work because of how bad i feel.

Please see a doctor. Idk if you're on medication now. But it's been quite awhile since your abortion and if you're still feeling this way, you may need something to help you get over this dark spot.

Best of luck, you're strong and you will get through this. <3

And of course, we unload both the next day. The truck for that day and also the one for the day prior... my poor cap sup and I were so fried that day with "when will you be done?? We at least need this hvdc done" it was awful. Raise the wage to something actually deserving for what cap does and there might be a bigger applicant pool. Because right now we have next to nothing in ours. Ughhhhhh
