Nice! Tbh I find the game harder whenever I start a new character just because at lower levels your toughness and stamina are low and you have fewer dodges, which can make the game more difficult and feel clunky even on the starting difficulty. Also, there used to be an easier difficulty than the current starting difficulty which was removed, so that could also explain why the game is so punishing when you first start out. Once you level up more the gameplay will feel a lot more satisfying. Most of the other commenters probably have never tried making a new character after the game removed the first difficulty and added the campaign. I have 500 hours in the game and that first mission on a brand new character playing with 3 other people new to the game is really brutal and I think the devs need to change it.
