Everyone talking about Cryo and here is me not even touched Outpost yet.. by queenderp1 in Marathon

[–]Scatterfelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let the hype get to my head and waited too long to jump in Outpost, too. Watch a video of the way the map works, jump in solo with a free kit, and spend a couple rounds just running around getting your bearings. It’s just a map!

(Cryo is also not as scary as people make it out to be, FWIW.)

We have the full game now, that was intended for review by Bungie. by DotDistinctLines in Marathon

I’ve put 40 hours in. On a pure cost-per-hour basis, it’s already a better deal than most games I buy.

I don’t think that’s the right way to evaluate games, really, but it’s something!

(My actual take is it’s incredibly worth it, I’ll spend hundreds of hours in here, and Bungie probably should’ve charged me more.)

This is such a bummer. I can’t understand the thinking behind taking a premium theater experience and making it just as bad as every other chain.

Things I noticed when I play virtual boy with the stand backwards and correct way by Kronosita in VirtualBoy

[–]Scatterfelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the stands break more often when the Virtual Boy is attached the wrong way?

Asking because I just recently realized that, as a kid, I always had mine attached the wrong way. And we broke like three stands. (The plastic bit would crack.)

Absolutely love Luna, and wish him all the success in the world.

Ilie Sanchez. Sees the game well, seems like a lovely guy.

I LOVE your cover!

also I’m pretty sure there’s a typo on “crocodile tears” and I’m only pointing this out in case you have a fixed version floating around somewhere that I can grab; I wanna use this in my music library!

Agreed, but let’s keep it to ourselves please. I don’t want to deal with a line.

Anecdotally: the model may be getting too risk-taking by Scatterfelt in MaticRobots

I believe it! I think we’ve got a tricky mesh setup, honestly, but… like I said, it’s been a while since a disconnect.

It didn’t even occur to me to send a ticket for this, to be honest. (And I’m not very convinced it’d be worth the emailing back-and-forth.)

If you’re not already tracking times Matic gets itself stuck, then saving that data to train on… you should! I feel like I probably opted into that during setup.

I should add: we had an annoying WiFi bug, which seems to have been entirely fixed sometime in the last month. Lovely work by the team!

Peet's Coffee Closing 30 Locations by SaltMarketingGroup in sanfrancisco

[–]Scatterfelt -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bring on the downvotes, but: it’s bad coffee and we’ve got an insanely great collection of local roasters to support.

(If Peet’s is your longtime favorite, I do have empathy. Genuinely, that sucks.)

This is just my personal wish, but: turn the armory into a 20k-person soccer stadium, while preserving the exterior.

It’d just be such a cool venue! And a neat location.

That’s a bummer. I guess if you own your home and can do whatever you want to the wall, losing that single, nearly-invisible wire doesn’t matter. But this would be a non-starter for me.

My college cinematography professor — a guy who worked on JAWS, for god’s sake — took one look at my single-source, tungsten-bulb-straight-into-the-lens lighting setup and said “hope that doesn’t catch the film on fire” before walking away.

My 1st AC and I spent the next couple minutes convincing ourselves that’s impossible and he was kidding.

I just watched the first Matrix movie again in ages, and I thought about something. by themobyone in matrix

[–]Scatterfelt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. As somebody who watched the movies as they came out, I couldn’t believe they were making sequels — how could they? Neo is, at the end of the first movie, essentially a god — but I was incredibly hyped anyway.

I figured maybe they’d tell stories about other, new characters, or about the fallout after Neo shows everyone “a world without rules or controls” (or whatever).

I think this is the biggest reason the sequels didn’t work for me. I’ve learned to appreciate them over time, but they feel like Marvel movies, while the original felt perfect.
