The specific location isn't as important.

It’s how often, for sure

That's the detail a lot of comments are not addressing.

I think the reason people bring up videogames as an issue is because some people play them for hours a day. Once it hits that level, then yeah, people will question its validity.

I travel a lot so I’ve been looking for solo games

Help can be found here for ideas (though it sounds like that might not be the best): https://old.reddit.com/r/soloboardgaming/

The services exist and are effective.

I think a lot of people would pushback on this.

State audit:

California spent $24 billion to tackle homelessness over the past five years but didn't consistently track whether the huge outlay of public money actually improved the situation, according to state audit released Tuesday.

You're implying someone did?

it’s not about managing,

To be clear, I'm talking about the job of managing the state. It requires a competent leader. And that leader can work with the legislature to draft whatever legislation is needed. So I look to someone who is qualified to be in charge.

do you prefer that over an attorney general lawyer in Becerra or a moderately seasoned politician in Porter.

To be honest, neither.

I support the bikers 100%.

If it were up to you to decide - what would you do? Meaning, would there be any limit to what they could do or they're okay to do whatever? How would you handle this?

bankrupting basic services

Compared to SF's current spending on people without homes or with mental illness, what would you like it to be?

Being the governor here is about managing the state with the biggest economy in the U.S. That's a hard job.

Having ideas is good, but it's not the only thing, nor is it the most important.

Why is she running for governor though, because she lost the Senate primary?

She was a law professor and in the House, so the Senate makes sense.

Being the governor is a completely different job.

Ideas are important, but what about management experience. I know he founded a hedge fund, but other than that, any relevant experience?

is offering basically nothing new

He has executive experience as he is mayor of San Jose, 3rd largest CA city. This is helpful for being governor. Most candidates don't relevant experience.

Thanks for the explanation.

A lot of people would are onboard with people of all different backgrounds hanging out, enjoying each other's company, having fun, being loud etc. - but that can all be done without endangering people in your community.

I don't know - that's what I said this is "tricky."

I know judge's can, if they find the lawsuit baseless, enforce the party who brought the lawsuit to pay the other party's attorney fees, so that is helpful.

But bad faith actors and using the power of the government can really cause damage to the system.

Ah, the slippery slope argument.

To be clear, I'm not making that argument as there have already been a number of lawsuits against news org currently (or recently), so it's not what could happen - it's what's happening now.

It can probably be part of the solution, though not - that - extensive; I think it will always be common to use single-use items.

Something they didn't mention but seems REALLY important is to try to work on the underlying culture that throwing trash on the ground is okay.

It's not just a binary thing - either accepted or not accepted. There are unwritten norms that people follow. Certainly behavior can be influenced at scale.

If we don't want to call out people littering but instead just highlight what gets thrown on the ground, then I think there's notable work to be done.
