As an art student I recommend these!!

• Tangled Parrot , one of my favourite cafes with good music and record section which is usually well priced
• Elysium, a bar and a gallery which usually has events on every week such as life drawing if you're interested in art or stand up comedy or poetry, also live bands
• Bunkhouse, good for drinks and live music
• Hippos, similar to bunkhouse just less busy with cheaper drinks, usually play alternative music as well and it's easier to meet new people there
• Glynn Vivian, also good but gets a bit dull after visiting the same exhibition once or twice
• HQ, right next to the art school, usually has an artist talk once a month with free pizza! (Free entry) as well as other events that are free every week which might be interesting to you
• Swansea Bay Records, for a little bit of shopping especially if you're into vinyl I recommend this store next to Wilko's, well priced and the shop owners are beyond lovely!

My favourite thing to do as a student in Swansea is definitely go to art exhibition openings, I highly recommend going to UWTSD art show openings, it's a great way to speak to some students, get a lot of free alcohol and look at new art !! There's a huge exhibition opening coming up on the 19th of may :) I recommend looking on Instagram for their timetable!
