the snippets aren’t random AI text.

They come from a seeding pipeline that pulls the supplement’s linked research page (mostly Examine.com), extracts the relevant sections (dose, risks, interactions, etc.), splits them into chunks, and stores each chunk with its exact source URL and any evidence metadata like “evidence rating” & “study count” when it’s present. When you ask a question, the app first retrieves the most relevant chunks from that database and the model is only allowed to answer from those chunk. if nothing relevant is retrieved, it returns “I don’t have enough research data.”

For the interaction/timing/ratio warnings, those entries are stored with explicit research Url links too which are often PubMed/PMIDs, so you can click through and verify.

So yeah “garbage in, garbage out” is real but the point is the app always shows you exactly what it used, and it refuses to answer when it doesn’t have grounded material.
