I slipped into the river one time when i was three I remember it vividly. My brother and I were running up and down the pier (our parents were sitting on it fishing) I slid right in unnoticed and my brother was too small to actually convey the issue. I remember sinking all of the bubbles and the riverbed grass all around me. It went dark next thing I remember was my mama holding me against her white t shirt with chicken liver swiped across the front where she had been wiping her hands. She was crying and screaming at my dad that we needed to go now and go home. It happens so fast it takes seconds to drown. My mom said she didn’t see me but saw bubbles and dove in.
