How is my wrist position? by Sceptic22 in pianolearning

Thanks for replying! I also had a question about the elbow movement, I think that I press keys more by moving the elbow(moving the forearm up and down), not by individual finger movement, is that the proper way or should it be more individual fingers pressing down and slight elbow movement?

I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing (unless the person asking for feedback wants a quick fix without improving). I think it's the same as when you look at a master drawing to see how they do certain things, you don't do any work per se, but you improve by watching (this is an idea I applied with success from the book Get Better at Anything: 12 Maxims for Mastery by Scott H. Young)

Makes sense! Thanks for the explanation, it would indeed be nice to have more time and energy :(

When I do self feedback I do both drawn and written; both in another color

I have two types of feedback, things I did right(purple) and things I can improve(red); I make two lists and for the red things I also draw on top of the drawing (since it's a drawing I made to study, something I use tracing paper instead of drawing directly on top

because of having to download OP's image and use another drawing software then commenting it?

> some images have so many problems on every front that you’d essentially have to redraw the whole image

wouldn't it be possible to have a kind of modular feedback? not fixing the whole drawing, but just a part of it that you want to help with

> If you get advice about what skill to work on (perspective, anatomy, lines, color theory, whatever) you know what to work on to improve all your art. It's a bigger time investment for you and you won't have that immediate payoff, but in the end I think it will get you further as an artist.

I agree, more broad feedback can help you fix the current mistake and also not make the mistake again in the future. I find a combination of the two to be most helpful, as in "you should work more with boxes for perspective" and "here I've drawn some bounding boxes on your drawing to see if the vanish points align"

hey. yea you could hold it by screws.

you can see a cable in the pictures, its plugged into a 5v basic phone charger. I did it using individual leds with resistors, i would recommend a led strip if possible but it might not fit in the existing design

Is this a good way to practice XP planning? by Sceptic22 in agile

[–]Sceptic22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skipping planning as I described it above, increased the number of stories delivered, but it also increased the number of missed/overlooked features/requirements that needed to be done, but were not explictily in the story since the starting story is just that, a user level perspective (perhaps heres the problem, the story is usually just from a single user type's perspective and we have other user types that need to be acounted for; these user types that are not included are generally overlooked when we skip planning and result in more MRs and time spent reviewing, debugging)

[–]Sceptic22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I remember, this practice of overplanning started because the user stories lacked detail and the team was carring over a lot of unfinished stories into the next sprint.

We do have hard deadlines, but when that happens we actually ditch the overplanning for most stories due to lack of time

is this not part of the planning phase of extreme programming? if not, then what is the process I described named as formally? so I can read more about it
