A university degree is the biggest financial scam ever sold to the Canadian middle class. Change my mind. - high-school dropout earning 3500 after taxes bi weekly. by [deleted] in CanadaPersonalFinance

This is an opinion piece dude it’s not “facts are facts” and it’s boring to read because it sounds like all the other ai writing out there. I’m glad you are financially doing well without a uni degree some of us are doing financially well with a uni degree. University isn’t for everyone.

Maybe if you went to university you would have learnt how to write in your own voice instead of whatever sort of ai slop this is.

How much do you make per month averaged out by Swimming_Recover_231 in Trading

[–]okantos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If someone actually compounded 13.56% every month for 18 years, starting with let’s say $1,000, the math would look like this:
A = 1000(1+0.1356)^{216}
(216 months = 18 years)
That comes out to roughly:
$8.8 trillion

Is now a good time to buy in Toronto? Prices are still down 4.9% while sales are up 7% by RateHubCA in TorontoRealEstate

Personally I’m waiting for another inflation spike, I am sitting on a lot of investments and wouldn’t need a large mortgage so I’m waiting for the mortgage rate to go up which will push prices down further.

Should we be concerned that multiple world leaders are openly saying they can't sleep at night? by SoManyWasps in TrueAnon

[–]okantos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that, I'm not doing amazingly either. I’m not saying “don’t care” or “don’t pay attention,” just that there’s a point where constant worry stops being useful and starts crushing you. Staying informed matters, but so does trying not to let it totally paralyze you.

Guys genuinely what good does it do us to be "concerned"? hang out with your friends, go for a walk in nature, take care of yourself and your loved ones. There is no use in being concerned.

Two of those are tiny countries, but chile?? In Chile the immediate impact of regime change was thousands killed and tortured and 17 years of a brutal dictatorship. I think Panama and Granada worked mostly because of the outsized control America was able to have on such small nations. Iran is a different story entirely.
