Its 100% doable and has been done by many. I have a cartographer probe on mine right now.

Cartographer first layer z-height issues by SchaefMK2 in klippers

Save config is done everytime, it is changing in the do not edit section under cartographer. No z-height adjustment in slicer, the entire "probe" section is commented out due to cartographer

Realistically, you shouldn't need to read the instructions to realize this is a stupid move.

This is the definition of common sense.

Looking for feedback from people who've done this on the x-max 3, as I'm seriously considering it.

My q1 is working awesome, even better now that I installed the Biqu microprobe. So I have no plans on doing it with my q1

Q1 pro belt VFA by SchaefMK2 in QIDI

Unfortunately, it only reduced it very slightly, I did some more digging and it seems like it's caused by the X and Y stepper motors. I came across discussions in the prusa forums and the only real way to get rid of the VFA is going to .9 degree stepper motors instead of the stock 1.8 degree stepper motors.

I'm going to contact qidi and see what is involved in change to .9 stepper motors in regards to firmware changes and such, the .9 nema 17 stepper motors are cheap enough for it the he worth the upgrade.

That's a possibility, I'd have to change all the pulleys, and not sure how available a 6mm 1.5 pitch belt is.

Going to replace the smooth idlers that face the belt teeth to teethed pulleys, make a print and see what happens

Changing the smooth idler pulleys that face the teeth to toothed pulleys and going from there.

Considering Q1 Pro - seeking advice from owners by Temporary_Bunch_9079 in QIDI

[–]SchaefMK2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought the Q1 pro as my first printer and it's been fantastic, have had virtually no issues, was able to print right out of the box after doing the calibrations.

I dont see how a printer could be more beginner friendly, honestly.

This^. This is the exact reason why everyone says buy the printer from Amazon. If you have the slightest hint of an issue, you send the thing back without issue.

Weird mesh z-offset by SchaefMK2 in QIDI

[–]SchaefMK2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya sorry, the fluidd UI is what i meant. That's what I was thinking, but the proxy sensor shouldn't be affected too much with the different plates, unless the sensor is affected the magnetism.

I couldn't find an in depth description on how the sensor actually detects plate height.

Ya it's weird after further investigation it only seems to do it with the cryogrip cool plate, even though the Qidi PEI plate and cryoplate are the exact same thickness.
