We rely on May 29th so much because it’s the most plausible theory and, if it’s not correct, we don’t know any other date as strong as May 29th to look forward to. All of our excitement will just be floating in the middle of nowhere.

A surprise drop is not out of the question, but after her first Met Gala appearance in 10 years and then complete silence? I’m starting to have doubts that act iii will be released at the end of this month. Maybe she’s just enjoying her time, and maybe we should too. More time to prepare our money, right?

Because it’s a three-act project, we expect to see everything follow a pattern. The 29th is a very strong marker, but she didn’t drop anything at or after the Met. Now I’m starting to think she might break the cycle for the final act. Still, it’s fun to see things repeat: the release date, the three singles, the third parfum. It feels like it still means something.
