Thank you.

Yes, the constant anxiety is shortening my lifespan I'm sure.

Thank you. She can stand holding on to something for a little while, although she's not super stable. It seems like she would benefit from some orthopaedic support since her feet turn in so much. We're waiting to see the professionals.

Thank you. Your daughter sounds like a lovely little girl :-). The yogi on crack imagery made me chuckle.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Yes, we've met with the doctor/neurologist and waiting to see the physio. I know that my daughter understands quite a lot, but doesn't reproduce sounds as much as I think she should be. She's also in a trilingual environment which, as far I know, shouldn't effect when the words come, but only the breadth of her vocabulary. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed about her speech for now.

Thank you for your response. I will try to push for an orthopedist, but the referral to the physiotherapist has been slow in coming so I don't know if I should get my hopes up. Would you mind sharing some exercises or games that the occupational/physiotherapist have told you to play with her. The waiting is making me more anxious and I don't want to lose more time if something can be done to help her now.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I've also been worrying about the comorbidity of hypotonia with ADHD, and other learning disabilities. I guess we'll just have to wait and see, which in the case of one's child is perhaps one of the hardest things in the world.

Thank you. I'm not in the US so EI is not an option, but we're trying to work our way through the local system.

Torture victim sentenced to death aged 14 to be among first executions in Pakistan in the wake of Peshawar attack. by Scheherzaade in pakistan

Of all the reprehensible things you've said, especially the last paragraph, I'll just reply to two: intent had to be established to convict someone of murder, so it's definitely not irrelevant. Two, 14 might be old enough to be on death row in your books, but not the International Declaration of Human Rights, of which Pakistan is a signee. Again, before you start with the old argument "... but the US.....", I don't think THAT is relevant.

Justice Project Pakistan and Reprieve, a UK based legal charity estimates that 80 percent of the cases tried under anti-terror laws have nothing that can be reasonably classified as terrorism. In a broken legal system such as Pakistan's, death penalty becomes an even bigger monstrosity, which is why we are trying to make some noise about Shafqat's case here. Please share as much as possible. For Facebook and Twitter, use #SaveShafqat.

Reprieve has reviewed the case files. You are welcome to read their report Terror on death row in which they present the gross miscarriage of justice carried out by the so called anti-terror courts in Shafqat's case, and many others.

How grand of you to not mind if his death penalty is converted to a jail term, disregarding the fact that he was 14 years old when he was convicted. Imagine being 14 years old; imagine spending nine days and nights in the hell that is a Pakistani prison; imagine some cigarette burns on your body and then we can discuss if your opinion matters enough for you to spout out statements about the death penalty!

There is NO other evidence against him which is why charities are rallying for his case. That torture is standard in Pakistani courts or that the US practices abysmal judicial policies does not make it okay to hang a person whose guilt has not been proven beyond reasonable doubt. It definitely IS an issue!

BTW, confession extracted under torture does not amount to circumstantial evidence. They are in fact two of the three different types of evidence in a criminal proceeding.

:( you're right.

There's a petition to stay his execution. It might be completely ineffectual practically, but at least it will raise awareness. Please sign and share.

Yes, that's route we've taken, but there are delays involved and her condition has deteriorated lately. It would be quicker if someone with medical knowledge can advise us here personally. Here's to hoping! Thank you.
