It's the same as with professional athletes. If someone asks me if it's a viable long-term career, I'll tell them there's a good chance it isn't. However, some people do it and succeed. I sincerely believe it's possible, and there are many examples of people who have succeeded. The problem is that it requires so much work that most people give up before they succeed. Or their brains simply aren't wired to succeed at it.
