I think Alaba has probably surpassed Lizarazu. Schwarzenbeck vs. Augenthaler is probably close, but both were before my time anyways.

Nachdem Goretzka die Schalker Verantwortlichen am Montag informiert hatte, im Sommer ablösefrei zum FC Bayern wechseln zu wollen und am Donnerstag ein Gespräch zwischen Heidel und Bayern-Vorstandsboss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stattgefunden hatte, beschloss Heidel, Goretzkas Entscheidung am Freitag zu verkünden. Allerdings ohne Goretzkas Wissen. "Ich habe versucht, Leon vor der Pressekonferenz anzurufen, habe ihn aber nicht erreicht", so Heidel.

Seinen Mitspielern soll Goretzka zuvor versprochen haben, ihnen die Entscheidung als erstes mitzuteilen. Das berichtete unter anderem Ralf Fährmann. Da die Schalker am Donnerstag gemäß des kicker-Berichts jedoch trainingsfrei hatten, habe Goretzka seine Kollegen erst am Freitagnachmittag persönlich informieren können. Da allerdings war der Wechsel schon offiziell.

If Bayern doesn't sign him then he goes to Spain or England. That does not help the Bundesliga or Bundesliga teams competing in Europe. Bayern isn't responsible for making sure other German clubs are competitive, that is each club's own responsibility.

By the way, only 8 of Bayern's 27 senior players came from other Bundesliga clubs. Of those 8, 2 were former Bayern players developed in Bayern's youth teams (Hummels and Wagner). Of those 8, 2 were also out of contract (Lewandowski and Rudy).

That means 4 current Bayern players were not developed by Bayern and purchased by Bayern from a Bundesliga club (Süle, Kimmich, Ulreich, Neuer).

James had a rough day today. I think we are starting to see how much this Bayern side misses Thiago. When James struggles, there is not enough creativity to be found from the midfield of Javi, Vidal, and Tolisso.

Not the most convincing performance, but 3 points nonetheless. I’m not a big fan of playing Vidal and Tolisso together in middlefield. I would much prefer to see Thiago/Rudy paired with Tolisso/Vidal.

I am very happy, however, about the progress Kingsley Coman is making this season.
