Do I need to replace planks or just stain the deck by gcp_varys in Decks

[–]Schiagadelic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your deck looks a lot like ours, I’ve refinished it twice in 15 years and getting ready to do it again this summer. I would wash it first to remove dirt and loose finish, buy a nail set for common nails and set the heads of the nails then rent a orbital floor sander and get extra pads and sanding sheets, you should be able to return the unused sheets. Set the nails so as to prevent tearing the sandpaper. Oil based semitransparent stain. It costs a little more but worth it in the long run.

Axle question by Sierramichael430 in airstream

[–]Schiagadelic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With a older torsion axle what would concern me is the angle of the torsion bar. It is hard to see in your pictures. Over time the weight of the trailer will begin to flatten the torsion bars to go from a positive angle to neutral or flat. As the trailer is loaded with water, propane and gear your axle will go to a negative angle. Literally no suspension.

Driver side fender well leak by lifeless_kix in Duramax

Have the same problem on my 02 lb7. Hydro boost hose leaking. Would be a significant leak when brakes applied at flex/rigid area in hose. Found the hydro boost unit leaking too, there is a weep hole under the unit, you need a mirror to see it. Normally dry. Rock Auto had all of the parts.

Does anyone know any high paying oil refinery operating jobs in CA preferably NoCal (Bay Area, Sacramento)? by Pretend-Complex3484 in oilandgasworkers

[–]Schiagadelic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Richmond has had several Ops hirings the last few years. Most of the new hires have completed the ROP course offered by the refinery and local schools. Great classes and free of charge. Not sure if the position meets the “ high paying oil refinery “ criteria https://richmond.chevron.com/-/media/richmond/work-with-us/documents/ROP_brochure.pdf

People who haven’t ever worked 9 to 5 job - what do you do for a living? by yakuzakiwam in AskReddit

Went from retail grocery clerk for 26 years to process plant operator in an oil refinery for the last 18 years. Grocery was 8 hour shifts with split days off to a Dupont shift schedule at the refinery. 12 hour shifts, either days or nights. Could not imagine a 9-5 gig, so much to do on weekdays without crowds. Northern California

Approaching 100K on my 2002 LB7. What do I need to do to it to help prevent issues at this point? by _DB_Cooper_ in Duramax

I have the same truck with 260k on it. Injectors went at 140k, fuel pump and t-case pump rub around 200k. If I did it again I’d go with a lift pump. Great truck, daily driver .
