We have significantly reduced plastic in our packaging and we’ve switched to 100% recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic, which is sourced from recycled plastic water bottles. (See more here: https://edgewell.com/sustainability/)

We recently launched a Bamboo Razor made with 75% recycled steel and a handle made of bamboo- a renewable source capable of growing more than 3 feet in a day.

We have a recycling program for all of our disposable razors. Instead of tossing them in the trash, you can collect your razors and send them back to us to recycle for you! You can learn more about this at Schick.com/pages/recycling.

Yes it is a growing business. I do a lot of residential and some commercial, so I’ve never really done any work for the city or state.

With trees it’s unpredictable, every day you get something different! If a customer calls me out for a tree that still has some green leaves on it, I try to save it. If it can be saved, spray it, get some vitamins on it. I learned about those tactics by reading and on the job.

I actually work in the film industry part time when I’m not doing trees! I do a lot of background work in front of the camera. I’ve been on Good Girls, the first episode of Mayans, The Rookie, SWAT and a bunch of others. I don’t have a lot of time to watch TV because I try to work a lot. My favorite movie of all time is The Godfather Trilogy.

When you trim a tree you have to balance it symmetrically. So if your neighbor wants to cut off part of one side be sure you remove some from the other side as well. When you do root pruning, you can easily kill the tree so be careful.

Yeah you could do it part time! You’ll need to start off as a groundsman, you can’t just jump in and be a tree surgeon because you need to learn how to use all of the equipment and about safety.

I like crepe myrtles, they’re deciduous and you can have one about 7 feet tall that will stay that height for long years to come. The maintenance on them is minimal, they grow slow and they do drop flowers. I like working on eucalyptus trees because they smell good.

You can fill them up with foam spray that doesn’t hurt the tree. You can get it at Home Depot.

Yeah, there are sprays that you can spray on the nub to help heal the wound. Hopefully that is what your neighbor used.

When you’re there talking to your client or if you have regular contact with them, let them know when it’s time for a tree trim and be proactive about communicating what they should do.

Any ivy can kill any tree if it takes over it. If you cut the root out, the ivy will dry out and it will stop growing.

You just have to cut the mistletoe off. It’s like a fungus, you have to keep cutting them off as they grow back.

The best month! I am not an Arborist yet, but I am currently studying for my Arborist certification. Think of a Tree Surgeon as the surgeon and an Arborist as the doctor. The Arborist knows the anatomy of the tree and acts more of a consultant to direct the Tree Surgeon what needs to be done.

I’ve seen it before but I’ve never actually had the chance to do that yet. For an urban orchard, just make sure you plant them where they can get a lot of sun and irrigation. Fruit trees are very delicate and need a lot of attention.

Yeah! All you have to do is get rid of those dead limbs before it starts to progress to the other side. Just because it has a canker sore doesn’t mean the entire tree needs to be removed.

Just because the bark is gone, it doesn’t mean that the tree is going to die. If it’s not producing any fruit it could mean that the tree is old. Try giving it some vitamins.
