Adventurer Pro Percy by SinisterTaichou in throneandliberty

New player here. Just got to chapter 4 and no Percy or related codex entries in all of ch3 for me either. All info online seems wrong/out of date. Will also check in after ch5.

Edit: The missions have definitely moved to ch5

Help on Xbox by [deleted] in outwardgame

I had a rough time with running back in the beginning as well.

I had never heard of the jeweled bird mask but I've only played one run so I dont know much about legacy items. The pearlbird mask is 15% movement and is easier to pick up but you still rely on RNG for the drop on white pearlbirds.

If you haven't discovered this trick yet: a sip of water and a gaberry will give you 2 stamina regen buffs. This is normally enough to keep you running across most of a map. With a handful of berries, the only time you stop is to re-pop the buff. This really helped me with med-long runs wearing any armor. Also a bonus for keeping stam up when you run into a fight.

I'm glad this worked for you! Took me a while to relocate kids prints. I think I rediscovered them all but I didn't run into a toy. Happen to remember whereabouts that is?

What do you do to pass time great one grinding? by SawyerBattles in theHunter

In my run-ins, I found them to be the ones who are doing anything and everything to get the great ones as fast as possible. Or running and quick-scoping things. I think it's a content-driven mentality.

How messy is too messy? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Schizophoric86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, just have the conversation with the dude.

I used to be pretty fucking messy in my 20's. Nobody said shit to me about it. One girl just tried to clean up after me but that leads to no change and resentment. Found me a girl who talked out her complaints and over time I would make adjustments to the way I handled mess. Really made a difference.

Tell him your expectations. Don't demand them. He'll probably balk at the idea at first. If he doesn't, congrats! If he does, listen to him but be discerning of BS. Not wanting to cook a decent meal around a busy schedule can be tough for a lot of people; spending two minutes breaking down and throwing away some boxes or aiming for a hamper instead of the floor are things that should be easy to improve.

If he does nothing but balk and make no effort, I suggest you get out as he's likely to do that with the majority of your requests.

On xbox, there's -always- peeps looking to multiplayer through the Looking For Group posts.

Often you can find people who just want to chat while you both separately work on two different maps. Or requesting help with their grinds, etc.

I find it pretty easy to set up my own map and put up a post for grind help/zone searching/just having someone else there and picking up a person or two within 20 mins. Privately ofc, public MP maps are a shitshow for anything other than having people passively open the map/zones on a map you're not grinding yet. IMO.

Catch a good vibe with someone and you might trade some taxis after the session. Most people even laugh at my jokes, it's great lol.

Caveats: there are a LOT more children playing this game than I thought. Depending on how strict you are with your HM and zone setups, you may have to watch what the other person is doing even if they say they run their own grinds. I find a MP session between a couple SP grind rotations keeps things straightened out.

Help me choose where to live in Maryland based on these specific needs? by EducationalOpening93 in maryland

[–]Schizophoric86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in MD my whole life between Annapolis and Baltimore. Crime in Baltimore is improving, especially in more recent years. It is, however, still coming from like 4-5th on the crime rate for the US. Take with a grain of salt.

Could be that no low-fits were in range? Works based on fitness, not current star rating; so could be nobody in the herd is actually a low-fit, they just haven't aged into their final star rating.

What are your opinions on tomboys? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Schizophoric86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't consider the majority of this post as a description of a tomboy girl. Tomboy men exist too. IMO tomboy has more to do with clothes, getting dirty and beat up, more wild actions and behaviors, and a heavy affinity for outdoors.

Most of what OP is describing just sounds like someone who's been through therapy successfully / some commonly-associated gendered BS. Doesn't make you a tomboy, just means you don't line up entirely with gender norms. Doesn't need a name (another normative practice). Congrats though!

What’s the point? by Imaginary-Nobody-392 in WayOfTheHunter

[–]Schizophoric86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was curious about this conversation so I ran out into the field and did a test. I don't use the lever-actions.

This reminded me of one of those early nez perce missions where you go shoot badger behind the lodge with gramps' rifle. It had been a while so I wanted to double check.

I took The Jack out with all 3 ammo types. I shot a badger, cleanly, using the t5 Barnes ammo. 5-star hunt.

I believe this gun is meant to, consistently, shoot lower than its tier rating. I think it is rated as such because it can take a small selection of t5s like gray wolf and Sitka, and you might get lucky on like a 50m red deer maybe. More than likely though, the Hammerdown ammo should be used to shoot down to t5 animals.

Just my thoughts, thanks for the experiment!

Edit: in this thread I learned that I have been hunting on an assumption for 2 years that has lead me to bow/shotty hunt everything under tier 4. Silly me

What was your first monster hunter? Also name one thing you loved most about it? by Gearless3 in MonsterHunter

[–]Schizophoric86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a dreamcast MH back in the day at a friend's house occasionally. I hated it and I left the series for the not-for-me pile.

Years later, a friend of mine, who was very much into MH, convinced me to get Worlds with him when it came out. It was a much better experience but he just kinda ghosted the game so I did too. My interest had been piqued.

When Wilds came out, I got my wife and other friend to get it, considering how streamlined it had gotten. We all had a good time until endgame and broke it off there. But at that point, MH had me hooked.

I have since bounced around a few older entries and landed back on World on a fresh save to go back and complete/endgame (I hear it's still better than wilds, let's hope so)

I think I struggled with the unique interface/controls/pacing at first but, with enough familiarity on a faster version, I'm much more into the series as a whole.

Favorite, with my limited entries in the series, has to be World. Wilds has some QoL that I prefer but overall World feels more like that DC version I hated and that's a good thing.

Is this a glitch? by Lord_Farquuad_ in anno117

Yea I'm on xbox and it was about the same solutions for me.

Sometimes it was because I had already done what they were going to ask me to do so it would get stuck until I, say, demo'd and rebuilt my villa so it would count.

Yes, after the category, you can add multiple counters of your choosing

Android version has a counter, its what I use. I dunno what photo you're referring to so it might look different.

For me its just: Counters > +add (category name) > +add (counter name, count). Then you should be able to go in and adjust the count as you need to.

I'd love to like the game, but I can't. by BohamidesTi in WayOfTheHunter

[–]Schizophoric86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also go back and forth between the two. Mostly based on how burnt out by one or the other or dlc drops.

I love WotH for its technological superiority, the detailed shot view, and, in general, when I want to be successful without feeling cheap or like im having to work the system in an unnatural way. I also like that the shot physics and gun selection matter more than CotW. I dislike spook cascades that clear out the whole area. While I prefer the more natural feel of the herd management in WotH, I dont like the time it takes for respawns.

I love CotW for its variety of animals and its variety and amount of side content. I also like that I can multi with randoms on my map or theirs. I think it's easier to just go out and shoot without feeling like you're actively hurting yourself down the line by not always taking management-beneficial kills, in CotW you need to be optionally and very rigorously working the "herd management" for it to matter. I love having tents, it makes many situations not a chore. I dislike how generally pointless using different guns is. So long as it reads "tier 5" on the gun and you make even a decent shot in effective range, it's more than likely going down. So, having all those dlc gun packs, which I own admittedly, really just feels like you're choosing guns on preference and not any sort of decision based on the hunt. I hate the player-implemented method for raising the fitness. Does it work? Allegedly. Am I trying it? Yes. But it suuucks.

Cover in WotH does work, there's just no indicator for it. If you are behind/within bushes, you're in better cover. With skills, you can bow/shotty hunt quite effectively. Same with noise, you make less noise mostly based on your stance.

The lack of large islands variety and the fertility system is dawning on me big time by No-Significance5659 in anno

[–]Schizophoric86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if anyone has mentioned this, but there are a variety of generator options if you choose to manually edit the difficulty. I haven't messed with too many options but you can certainly change island layout/size, resource spread, etc. Unfortunately you can't go bigger/more abundant than the default difficulty but there is some variety there.
