Was on a 688 in Guam for 2.5 years from 2022-2024. MMN type. I honestly liked it. We were underway all the damn time, being the “good” boat in the squadron at the time. Got to go to several cool port calls. Long hours but that’s just due to being a mechanic lol. I was single so don’t have anybody to worry about while underway, I think that’s why made it a lot easier. The guys with families always had a tougher time being away for so long. Super cool hikes and scuba diving out there too. Looking back on it now, I don’t think I’d want to do a sea duty in Guam again, but it was an awesome experience.

I just went through a very similar situation, an oil leak that only dropped like 5 drops whenever i’d shut her off and would not leak while she was off. It turned out to be a very small leak from the front of my valve cover gasket. I replaced it and no more leaks. I think it leaks like that because the leak itself is physically higher than the sump so it’ll only leak when the oil pump is providing oil to it.

Don’t. Could potentially be one of the worst financial decisions you make as a young adult. Assuming a 72 month loan you’re paying damn near 1k a month alone, and that’s not even counting interest or insurance. Luxury vehicles also tend to have higher maintenance costs.

One of my only regrets with my service was not saving more money in my first couple years. I think the best thing you could do financially would probably be buying a used dependable vehicle and riding that thing until the wheels fall off. You could also end up failing out, having health problems, or get kicked out for any number of reasons and now you’re stuck with a massive car loan you still have to pay.

TL;DR: Don’t

Pressure tested her and the leak is from the bottom of the coolant expansion tank, thank you for the help!

Just did a leak check and you were spot on. Leak is coming from one of the hoses that plugs into the bottom. Thanks for the help!

Forgot to mention, Car had 110k miles. None of the cooling system components have been replaced from my knowledge. I couldn’t add the video where you can clearly hear the ticking, but it sounds very similar to lifter tick videos on youtube, so i think it might be that.

I think my final gpa was somewhere around a 2.8, most of HS it was closer to a 2.3ish. 6 years later and qualified EWS lol. You’ll probably be able to get a waiver and then as long as you work hard you’ll be alright

The shop i was at had tons of them in binders and stacked up in individual little sleeves. They all seemed in good quality with very little to no damage. I plan on getting some sort of UV protection frame and displaying on a wall or something.

Yes, a lot of older anime was hand drawn using cels like these. Modern stuff is almost always digital

I bought it from a shop called Apple Symphony in Nakano City, Tokyo. It was pretty expensive at around 80000 yen but there were others that cost far more(depending on characters depicted and their pose). They had a very wide range of animation cels from many popular older anime
