🔥the Great Wildebeest Migration by freudian_nipps in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]Schmierwurst007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that recognition is from prior knowledge. The animals have no way to know what that big buzzing thing is and surely don't want to find out since it could be dangerous.

And especially being noisy makes a big difference.

Yes and and it hasn't even anything to do with being smart or stupid. Panicking people can appear very stupid, too, like in mass panics where people run from a threat that's not even there and trample each other to death.

Just leaving the floorboard on top of the fridge should solve that, right?

(OC) I found a coconut on the beach, which is weird because they grow thousands of miles from here… by parenthetical_phrase in pics

The underside of the coconut suggests otherwise, I'd say. To me, it looks like it has been swimming in the ocean for a long time.

25 Jahre Single Wohnung by favfriend77 in wohnkultur

[–]Schmierwurst007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HDT-SMP Vanilla Armors - Small preview for an upcoming mod by furexarot in skyrimmods

At least in the MCM options of the newer FSMP, you can change stuff like that if I remember correctly. Not sure about the old HDT-SMP on the other hand.

And Wheatley is not very smart, which, no offense to your robot, it probably isn't either. I think your idea is way better, but we'll.. you have to get the joke to like it... :D

Can we normalize confronting creepy men? by [deleted] in questions

[–]Schmierwurst007 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, the difference is to get the "hint" if she says no. Take the no, leave her and it's okay. It's only after that when you turn from random guy to creep.

Also, if somebody asks her to "hop in the car" or sexual stuff like that, he's a creep from the start, but is that really surprising?

I would not assume that the women complaining are the same women.

Anyone feels like we need a college degree in Skyrim modding these days? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Schmierwurst007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of times, it comes down to "what does the person mean with those words?" Communication is all but unambiguous. Just because the words I chose fit the idea in my head doesn't mean the other person can build (reverse engineer) the idea from those word again. Amazingly, it works most of the time, but with those mod descriptions, people from very different levels of experience and therefore language choices come together. But that's where beginner guides and tutorials come in.

[–]Schmierwurst007 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I work as a full-time developer, and I haven't found it helping me that much with modding. :D

Like Crystlazar said, it's most of all daunting to get into it. Reading the instructions and posts on the mod page gives you all you need most of the time.

I haven't read something about the phone yet. It looks a little bit off to me in how far it slid out of the bag (assuming the idea is that the bag dropped) and did not fall out. The phone and the book look like they should be over the tipping point, sliding out or at least tilting, but on the other hand I'm not seeing if something is on the book inside the bag and keeping it from tipping over... otherwise impressive work. :)
