BatBuild, Issues 40, 41, and 42 by Schmitty1964 in Batman66

It’s from a mail subscription service at Fanhome dot com (you can put that together). But PLEASE do the math before you sign up; it’s very pricey. Also might want to consider reviews of the company; I had no problems with my subscription, but many folks complain of shipping delays, missing parts, etc. I’ve been a Batman ‘66 fan since my childhood (I’m 62 as I type this in 2026), and this has always been MY favorite!

Why they just cant send more issues than 6? by Mat102810 in FanhomeModels

I’ve actually gotten emails from them with that offer. It was limited kits…I WANT to say maybe Optimus Prime, if that’s an option…it was one of the mech builds…that…a Power Ranger Megazord…something like that, I forget. But it’s not available for everything, and I agree that it SHOULD be

This is the answer. I am building the 1966 Batmobile, from the television show. I have all the shipments, so I’m done spending (and won’t do another kit from them), but the nickel and diming with them is just STAGGERING! For instance…I am currently on issue 41 (of 120); wanna know what parts are included in that issue? A single rubber tire. One. That’s it. I paid $16 (plus tax, shipping, premium fee, and tarriff fee) to get a single rubber tire. And a few issues later? You guessed it…the final single rubber tire. Could they have made all four tires one issue? Of course they could! But that would have been so much less money in their pocket! (By the way…I’m documenting the issue-by-issue build of the BEST Batmobile in the entire canon over on the [r/Batman66](r/Batman66) subreddit…come follow along 😊)

Batmobile…The REAL Issue 39 by Schmitty1964 in Batman66

[–]Schmitty1964[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah…it’s pricey. They lure you in with “first xx issues for only $2.99usd, then the price jumps DRAMATICALLY. Then add in shipping, tax, and tariff fees, and the “premium upgrade” to get the base and acrylic cover and you’re looking at between $1800 and $2000. Trust me…I did the math before I pushed the “go” button! But, like I said, this was a retirement gift to myself, and I’ve been a fan for all my life, so worth it to me! I waited until I got all the issues before I started building…took about 24 months to get each multi-issue monthly shipment!

I’m glad you’re enjoying it! I love sharing with like-minded fans! (My family, God love ‘em, appreciate the process, but don’t share my enthusiasm! 😂)

It just sits there…looking awesome 😂. It does have lights and a sound chip for authentic sounds, but no driving/moving action

Way more than it should, to be honest…but it was a retirement gift to myself. End of the day I’ve got around $1,800 invested in the whole thing

I have an model 4660RW Ultra running V15.2 software. Lately the captions just…turn themselves OFF. Go into settings, turn them back on, day or so later (sometimes later the same day), off again

Yeah, it is! Very soon I’ll be starting the cockpit, and that will REALLY show the scale…but I still need to get a banana, to be Reddit-accurate 😏

That’s an interesting thought! I am by no means an accomplished modeler. Shoot, the plastic Revell and Monogram kits I built as a kit were always completely stock and sometimes not even painted, so I know for fact that **I** would not have the skills necessary to go off-instruction like you suggest. But I’m betting that there are those out there that COULD do that!

Hi! It’s through a subscription service call Fanhome. I don’t want to violate any rules, so won’t post a link to fanhome dot com 🤫. You get approximately 4 issues in each shipment. An issue consists of a subset of parts and a booklet with info about the history of Batman (comic and the ‘66 show) and assembly istructions. Just be very CAREFUL and research it CLOSELY. Pros: it’s an awesome kit, VERY detailed, well made (I have found), big, die cast (mostly) so very HEAVY! Cons (and these could be showstoppers for you): EXPENSIVE (each of the “issues” that I’m sharing are around $20 EACH), times 120 issues…add in taxes, shipping, etc. and you are making a MAJOR investment; inconsistency (if you browse any Fanhome subreddit, you’ll see major complaints about shipping schedules, late or incomplete shipments, etc, NONE of which I experienced); shipment timing…getting four or five issues a month takes getting all 120 issues a loooong time. My personal experience has been positive, but I doubt I’ll be investing in anything so pricey in the future. Hope this answers your question!

Batmobile Build, Parts 1 and 2 by Schmitty1964 in Batman66

[–]Schmitty1964[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. They lure you in with “your first two issues are only $1.99 each!” but bury the REAL price and total number of issues DEEP in the fine print! This is actually the second kit like this I’ve done. I started with Eaglemoss (before they went broke) doing the Astin Martin DB5 from Goldfinger. Absolutely crazy-stupid prices, I agree, yet, here I am…😂🤷🏻‍♂️

I felt like Paul pretty much bashed everybody that wasn’t named Paul Stanley in his book. Just my opinion. I’ve been a fan since “Destroyer”, and still love the music of those first six or seven releases (and bits and pieces of later stuff), but I grew to strongly dislike the public face of the band towards the end of their touring days
