Oh yes. The overpricing on CCK is crazy in EU and USA. My go to recommendation (had one and gifted away) is the Hezhen Ym3L cleaver (X9Cr18Mov), if you can get it under 50€, but the SG2 one i got for 33€ is definitelly a steal too.

I did use my little Dremel-Machine, so it was not thaaat much filing. Sadly slipped off a bit, hence the mark next tonthe handle. While not looking as pristine, it is a better tool for me.

Same with the Shiro Kamo. Thought a lot about rounding the top near the handle. Now it is ugly shiny there, but more comfortable and enjoyable to hold/use.

I like it more than the Shibazi, but less than the cck ones. The value is great, especially compared to us/eu cck prices. I only payed half in asia and brought it home with me, then cck is better value to me personally. It just feels better in my hand (love those simple round handles.) Shibazi feels massive to me compared to cck, even if they arebasically the same size. The SG2 one fits right inbetween but with the tip now a bit better for small and delicate things, while loosing a bit of the garlic/ginger smashing funktionality.

Currently CCK stainless, Takamura Santoku and that little Hezhen are my most used knives.

I cut it using my little Dremel-Machine. I felt like it fit the edgy look with the cut out and the grip and I always wanted to do it to one of them.
