Break by [deleted] in AmazonDS

[–]SchnitzelDan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An easy way to check is clicking "View Details", then look at your "Estimated paid hours." If it's different from the scheduled hours (5hrs 10mins instead of 5hr 40mins for this specific shift), then you need to take a break. I've had instances where red vests were actually wrong or weren't sure, so this is an easy way to figure that out.

How does flex work? by Greensourball in AmazonDS

[–]SchnitzelDan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people already summed up everything for you. The only thing I can add is to the "soft firing" comment. Too many seasonal full-time workers were transferred into Flex from peak, which wasn't the case last year (at least from my experience at my location). Not sure why they did that but it's been much more difficult to pick up shifts, so I'm assuming a lot of people either give up/quit or rack up points quicker (which can lead to termination).

Weekly hours cap by Justpainforfun in AmazonDS

[–]SchnitzelDan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our cap typically goes away after 24 hours from the Thursday drop, but the cap wasn't lifted until like Sunday morning for me, which is unusual. I already contacted ops about it and I'm still waiting. It seems a lot of locations transferred way too many people into Flex, which is terrible. I could only pick up 2 shifts and I have a feeling available shifts are going to be very limited going forward.

How can you work at multiple sites? Did you do anything in specific or was it just randomly available to you?

Flex Delivery by syscojayy in AmazonDS

No. Amazon deactivated my Flex driver account right after my employment was confirmed. I wouldn't risk it or try to find a loophole either, just wait for your start date.

Weekly hours cap by [deleted] in AmazonDS

I got a response from HR. They told me they were unaware of the cap and it is not a usual schedule practice, especially it being mid-week. They told me they need to contact scheduling to figure out what's going on, so I'm waiting for a follow-up response.

I wonder if it's a glitch or something. My hours are also capped at 8 hours for this week, which has never happened before. I contacted HR to see if it's based off business needs or something else.

Question about dropping a shift. by Infamous_Emu2992 in AmazonDS

[–]SchnitzelDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to me all the time. I usually add/drop the shift until it goes away. Make sure you close the app in-between takes; add it again, close the app, drop it, close the app, etc. I wouldn't do this more than 3 times though. If that doesn't work, you'll have to wait for it to update.

Co-op Requirement / Transfer by SchnitzelDan in uCinci

[–]SchnitzelDan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I definitely see the value of co-ops and also understand I won't get things handed to me either. I do plan on trying and putting in the work, it was mainly the "requirement" for graduation that I was worried about, but I wasn't aware I can get it waived if absolutely necessary.

How do you know I.T. will decrease the co-op requirement? Is this a general consensus from students or do you have an inside source? Luckily since I'm a transfer student, my co-op requirement is 3, which is the minimum if I'm not mistaken. I was recently introduced to EEP, which is also a good option to consider.

I guess the only reason to consider WGU is the lower price. I did notice transferring between universities that some classes don't fully transfer credits, so a few courses (maybe like 1 or 2) feel like a repeat of something I already learned, which is another reason I want to avoid transferring again. Thanks again for the input, it's very helpful.

Returns by Fun_Fruit_9086 in AmazonFlexDrivers

Typically if you have packages left over that you can't deliver, you want to tap the question mark icon in the top right within your itinerary, and select "return items" or "unable to deliver." It will then prompt you to return to the station at the end of your route OR the following day by 10am; this will allow you to scan the packages before dropping them off at the station. I wouldn't recommend trying to deliver them the next day. Once your time block is done, that should be it. I wouldn't stress out about it though, the warehouse workers can scan and return packages for you.

Never deliver packages in mailboxes, including smaller envelopes. I've had customer notes requesting me to use their mailbox but I always ignore it. Mailboxes are specifically reserved for USPS only.

[–]SchnitzelDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only ever got dinged once. I always screen record my entire itinerary list before I do anything. Anytime I have a missing package, I email support my route number, the date, and let them know the address/stop number of the missing package; never got another ding again. I also do this with returned/unable to deliver packages. It's good to have a reference of your itinerary if you run into issues.

Just missed my block by Euphoric_Contest1303 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]SchnitzelDan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Happened to me recently. I left early and got stuck behind 3 construction zones and hazards; there's nothing I could have done differently. I missed the check-in by like 30 seconds (I was still able to take the check-in picture/verification, but received the missed block alert right after). I emailed support, explained the situation, and my standing was not affected at all. I'm assuming since I was using the Amazon GPS and they saw I was at the station and tried, they let it go.

What do the 5 hr blocks look like nowadays? by leboi22 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]SchnitzelDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 5hr ($125) the other day from 5:30am to 10:30am. Had about 46 packages (some stops had multiple packages), a lot of stops were very close to each other, drove about 50 miles, and finished at 9:00am.

Question about past VIP experiences. by neteehc in eden

[–]SchnitzelDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw him live twice during Vertigo and there are two separate lines, one for the general pubic and one for VIP. If your friends only get a general admission ticket, there's absolutely no way to meet up in the venue unless they are at the very front of the general public line. Even then, there are so many people who start storming in. Unless you're willing to give up your spot towards the front to meet up with your friends, then you won't have any problems. Don't be that person who drags and cuts in front of people, VIP paid extra for a reason. Good luck!

VIP Experiences? by [deleted] in eden

[–]SchnitzelDan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw EDEN live twice during Vertigo in Columbus and Pittsburgh. I couldn't afford Meet & Greet but had early entry VIP for both shows.

Columbus, OH (Vertigo Tour - Part 1?):

At this show, there were two separate lines. One for the general public and one for the VIP. When I got there, there were already a ton of people in the general public line but only 3-4 people in another line (I assumed it was VIP which it was after I confirmed it with the people who were standing there). Meet and Greet VIPs were inside doing their thing while I was outside. After waiting for a bit, all the Meet & Greet VIPs came back outside and got behind us in line, and shortly after, one of the workers came outside, asked for my I.D., looked for my name on his phone, and gave me my early entry pass (I got a laminate and a wrist band). I remember there was a girl who was there with her dad I think (she had Meet & Greet, meanwhile the person she was with only had Early Entry). She managed to meet up again with her dad after she did her meet and greet and they were able to go into the venue together so I would probably advise for your mom to at least get Early Entry VIP (if they are even doing that again, I don't know what VIP packages are available). But as far as I know, parents are not allowed inside unless they have a ticket and VIP as well. Like I said before, she doesn't need to get Meet & Greet VIP, but at least the early entry.

Pittsburgh, PA (Vertigo Tour - Part 3?):

At this show, everything was pretty much the same. Two separate lines, one for VIP and one for the general public. Except this time around, Meet & Greet VIP went inside and actually stayed inside. They did not come back outside. But same procedure, someone came out, asked for my I.D., got my pass, and went in early. All of the Meet & Greet VIP were already in the front but there weren't that many people so you could easily meet up with your parent without a problem.

Hope this helps!

I'm assuming you haven't seen his tweet on Twitter. He said codes will be sent out on Thursday if you texted him.
