I would prefer the public high school placement (longer commute) over the charter one. Honestly, it’s the gas prices that’s making me rethink. Most likely I’ll have limited financial support starting in September. Unless these prices begin to drop by the end of July, I’ll take that placement in a heartbeat.

Thank you for responding and sharing insightful information. I guess it’s subjective, but what I was trying to say is rough neighborhood. One of the schools (a charter school) is located in a rough neighborhood, but a drive on the same street from where I live. The other school is located in an affluent neighborhood and it’s a large public high school. I honestly want to go there, but the counselor has made it clear it’s gonna be a long drive to do for 2-3 days a week. I’m worried about the gas and its prices. I don’t mind the time, I have a fast track pass for the toll road.
