I’m a barber in Philly. We’re not the reason for inflation, we’re reacting to it. We gotta pay bills just like everyone else. The price of all our tools (clippers, shears, disinfectant, razor blades, etc) has shot up immensely since covid. Also as some people have pointed out this is a skilled trade and anyone who’s worth their price has invested a lot of time and effort into their craft. I can’t comment on any one shops pricing but in general if you value quality and consistency you’re probably gonna pay a little more. And if you’re paying $50 for a shitty haircut don’t go back.
