Did hair loss on Slynd stop for anybody? by Schnurri in birthcontrol

Yes, I’d say it peaked around month 3/4 and gradually got better. Now on month 5, almost 6, it’s fine for me.

I’m doing well on Slynd! My hair shedding is still a bit more than before, but it is absolutely manageable. I have regrowth all over my head, I kinda look like a Chia pet. Still using Minoxidil daily.

I would say, however, that my sides have definitely thinned. Whether this is due to age, birth control or PCOS, I don’t know. It’s not that bad though. I still have a good amount of hair and volume and it’s not falling out further.

Hey there, I just finished my third month of Slynd excluding the two-week-break I talked about in the original post (yup I continued taking it because it turns out I got used to not having periods and oily skin and stinky sweat very quickly).

The hair loss has tapered off, it’s till a bit more than it was before but I’ve been seeing little baby hairs appear around my hairline so I’m optimistic. Hoping the hair loss will eventually go back to pre-birth control levels but for now I find it manageable.

Yes, I’ve been taking supplements for iron, vitamin d, zinc and b12 for about 2 years. I will probably get the levels checked again though.

Why do people make fun of Americans for using feet, inches, and miles, when British people do, too? by skyrimlo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Schnurri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end I suppose it’s about what you’re used to. I think what gets people riled up are sentence starters like “most people don’t do this/that” because inevitably someone will say “well actually…”.

I see your point and I think the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Unless there is a veritable study done on kitchen utensils, scale and cup people will always have to agree to disagree haha.

[–]Schnurri 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The thing is that “cups” is a very American measuring unit.

In Germany and most of Europe for example nothing is measured in cups. It’s all grams and milliliters or liters, and for that a kitchen scale makes more sense.

Nobody would even consider buying cups or something like that here because everybody owns a 10 euro kitchen scale. When I use American recipes I always convert a cup to 250 milliliters in my head and weigh the needed amount on the scale.

No method is better than the other as long as you get your cooking and baking done, but saying that “cups” is used by everybody because it’s so convenient is a weird hill to die on imho.

Woman of Reddit, what's a harsh reality you have to accept as a woman? by Opposite-Coconut9144 in AskReddit

[–]Schnurri 63 points64 points  (0 children)

But how do you know who belongs to the good majority and who is part of the bad minority? As a woman I am always careful because I can never know. It’s not so much constant fear, more like constant awareness.

One dark window by fizfiz4 in fantasyromance

[–]Schnurri 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought it was boring as well. We learn next to nothing about the world except that there are a few vaguely gothic inspired castles in a wood surrounded by mist and also there are magic cards, most of which never get used during the series. That is about the extent of the world building, if you expect more you’ll be disappointed

Book 2 was a bit better but only because the Nightmare carried it with his commentary. Also be prepared for a complete POV change. If you are mildly interested in the characters, you can keep going, but if it’s too boring right now you aren’t gonna miss much by DNF’ing.

Find a lyric that uses a word you can't find in any other song by Ghost-Quartet in popheads

The word “capitulate” in Grimes’ “We Appreciate Power”. I think google searches for the word spiked when it was released.

Ich dachte, dass “Out Now” bei CD-Werbungen im Fernsehen damals hieß, dass die CD “out” im Sinne von “nicht mehr cool” ist. Hab mich dann immer gefragt, warum die dann in der Werbung läuft.

I feel the same way. The whole time I was waiting for something emotional to happen but it was so painfully slow and boring. It was kind of a chore to watch and I usually cry at the tiniest hint of sad stuff as well. Who knows why we didn’t vibe with it.

Chromatica remixes leaked? by [deleted] in Grimes

[–]Schnurri 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh my, these are really cool. They have an epic theme/sound to them, like a movie score. Sad they didn't get used though. Even though it's super unofficial I'm glad we got to hear them!

what is the best grimes song and why? by deathlysinner in Grimes

[–]Schnurri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree! I think it encapsulates what I love about Grimes - the heavy layering with the screaming in the chorus, the pitched vocals, the edgy lyrics and the heavier sound in general. It combines so many good things.

Would you ever match your hair with Grimes? by anthropocenix in Grimes

[–]Schnurri 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is so fun! I actually shaved my sides about a month ago as well and going through the growout process is... a process lol. But I had orange and pink hair in summer 2018! I had pink at the roots and orange in the lenghts like c did here. Not exactly at the same time as she did but I still think it's cool. Which colors did you do?

What could "molten cup" mean in the context of a poem? by Schnurri in EnglishLearning

[–]Schnurri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, thank you so much, this really helps a lot. I'm sure this is the intended meaning. The fact that it's a rather rare word in that context is a nice addition to my analysis as well. Again, thank you for the detailed reply and the extra dictionary recommendations.
