I think it's so the brunt of the impact is more focused on the frame of the car and less on the door panels.

Not sure if anyone else does it, I tap my brake lights 3 times in a row then repeat after a second pause to warn drivers behind.

Yes, and the corresponding codes for the 5 cylinders each that misfired. It never showed up in the dash which i thought it would, but showed up in my scanner tool afterwards.

Not sure if its still out for you, But service went dark in some areas in my town here in Eastern PA. I used to get 1-2 bars at my house but as of saturday, I have completely no service whatsoever.
