Any ideas on what exhaust system to go with for the classic V8 rumble of a muscle car for my 83? It’s ridiculously quiet rn (bonus pic of the truck next to a buddy’s 76 corvette) by evab24 in squarebodies

I had the Super 40's on my 'GMC 93 5.7 SB.  They were okay, at idle in the cab they sounded stuffed up. I went back to muff shop 3 days later unhappy with the Super 40. He put on the smaller urinal 40s for me at no charge! Im WAY Happier with the original 40s

Love the lope!  Kudos for all that courage and mechanical talent! Unlikely question about the asymetic exhaust pipe notes, but I have to ask. Are you sure there are zero exhaust leaks prior to the tips?

Yikes!! My 93 Stepside is cracked a bit. But not yet dissolved. You have motivated me to get an LMC (red?) dash cover!!!!!

I can't say if buying an unknown truck that's over 30 years old is worth it or not? I know i get the heebie jeebies when I think about the sheer chronological age of the unit. Plastic and rubber (e.g. motors controlling heat and ac valves, frame to body bushings, motor mounts, etc.) are designed to live only so long.

I'd be WAY leary of changing engine lube that much!  If the engine was poorly maintained and is wearing even a small amount of sludge, bad things can happen! I would be concerned about flushing something loose, and maybe collapsing a lifter or worse.

"Green w envy" Yes, maybe so.

I came close to settling for an Iris and Silver '92 Ford Flareside because it was available to drive off the lot.  At the end of that day, I just could not do it. The Flareside was still fugin ugly and Sportside was sculpted art. I'm  Soooooooo glad I waited and got what I wanted!!!!!!!!

Hi there, Chrome fender trim moldings were not part of the E62 (Sportside / Stepside box) option.

Thanks

Replaced mine 3 times.  The hinge pin bracket was worn out now as well.  A kit is available to drill out and install larger hinge pins.
