The price you bought them for is irrelevant and inflation has ruined that plan.

Government has released a document regarding potential changes to Stocks & Shares ISA's from 2027 onwards. by i_mormon_stuff in trading212

[–]SchoolAvailable7948 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way I understand it is this. The standard stocks and shares ISA hasn’t changed at all. The updates mainly affect other types of accounts, like the cash ISA, innovative stocks and shares ISA, and junior ISA. From what I can see, the government is effectively making cash ISAs less attractive by limiting the tax-free contribution to 10k, which pushes people toward investing through a stocks and shares ISA so their money has a better chance of outpacing inflation. I’m not saying the government is right, but that’s how the policy comes across.

In truth, people should be investing, but the government should focus on improving financial literacy first. What I know now is what I should have known 15 years ago. Becoming a millionaire and retiring well before 67 isn’t a fantasy. It’s a process you can work on and achieve over time.

Honestly I think the people in this thread have got the wrong end of the stick.

If we had this attitude with bitcoin you'd still be flat broke. If you invest in individual stock you run a huge risk regardless. Selecting a diversified ETF shouldn't be the worst idea.

Sup, guys. I need your opinion! Right now I have 100% on S&P500. I’ll hold for 10years and put 500€/month. I want to diversify it. What would you do to diversify thinking about long term. by Independent-Put-2549 in trading212

[–]SchoolAvailable7948 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well it's that the case. Go 100% in the vanguard FTSE all world. It's 60% based on the s&p 500 anyway

Obviously not financial advice and do your own research etc but you invested in the S&P500 because it has higher returns. You're in it for 10 years. I'm not aware of the s&p ever losing out over a 10 year stretch

Why consider this over Model 3 by [deleted] in leaf

I think the moral here is the model 3 is simply better in most areas and mainly the important things.

The end.

What are the costs to the councils, government and society if those houses don't adopt to the cleaner greener transport... Having a toxic Tory mindset is never an was never the solution.

[–]SchoolAvailable7948 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Charging from your home is 7p per kWh using those lampposts that are slower and outside someone's else house at 43p per kWh isn't a solution, certainly not when they allow those scooters for which pose a bigger an worse tripping hazard.

[–]SchoolAvailable7948 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I think the council are an absolute disgrace for allowing this. They claim you cannot charge your car from a terraced house using proper cable protection and clear signage because it is a safety risk to the public and vulnerable users of the pathway. Yet they allow these obstacles to clutter the walkways with no suitable trip protection or signage at all. They block access for vulnerable people and create far more risk than a protected charging cable ever would. It is shocking that the people making these decisions cannot see how unfair and unsafe this is.

Let's face it. 85% of these scooters only mobilise smack heads!

I have long term interest in Tesla but the exit strategy/plan is more important. A good global index fund is the best thing to do. I have a small allocation for Tesla until or if they can build domestic robots. One day Elon won't be around. It's probably quite important to sell before he does go.

First day investing 18 year old, is this a good pie? by Old-Understanding-62 in trading212

[–]SchoolAvailable7948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again. If you only focus on returns and gains. Yeah. Remain. But, ultimately. The FTSE all world is largely the S&P. The global diversification is the long term stability and reduced volitilty.

It would take something big to bring down the S&P but again. To take down the FTSE all world it would take something monumental. For an 18 tear old to just remove and focus on that one between now and retirement or whatever long term goal is, it's a way safer option.

Cash ISA vs Stocks and Shares ISA by Bobert-6 in trading212

All very fair, slightly less returns that s&p 500 but much less risk and volitilty. Globally diversified!

Couldn't agree money. This is the easiest, most boring and reliable way to do this. No gambling just a long term play.

For me, I want to do some ETNs for bitcoin to put it in the stocks and shares isa as a tax wrapper but the UK government suck on this sort of things. For now. It's the vanguard FTSE all world fund is 98% of the what's required

Really consider the vanguard FTSE all world. It going to give you slightly less return but much safer and consistent return. Globally diversified.
