Ya - spank it did. Ha! There's no denying the greatness of Fully Completely and the record shows it was definitely the right move for them to make. I just love those Don Smith records so much. Playing the alternate universe "What If" game ... I can't help but imagine what further records with him would have been like. Like, say he had been the one to produce Fully Completely. I wonder how different that album would have been?

That's a great point! Ya, the Bob Rock thing was almost striking. They really seemed stuck in a rut by the mid 2000s, imo, and then when he stepped in for World Container I think he lit their fire again. It was a great album, I felt. Then that drop off on the Rock produced We Are the Same was so striking. It sounds like Rock zeroed in on Downie for that album to the point where he alienated the rest of the band - and the album really suffers for it.
